Bring back SOLOQ anet
Solo queue was just luck of the draw on which team go fewer clueless teammates. I don’t see how that was any better than the current system.
This system is odd. I’ll be on 10 match hot streaks to not winning at all.
I don’t see how that was any better than the current system.
One of the most popular and competitive games in the world, League of Legends, has a solo queue system. The reason is because it is an impartial system. Players learn and improve their mechanics more from equal-footing situations rather than getting steamrolled by premade teams vs pugs. Alternatively, premade teams gain more insight and experience from facing other premade teams rather than steamrolling pugs.
Also, from a population growth standpoint, it is beneficial to have an impartial solo queue system. When players have a negative experience in pvp, such as a premade team steamrolling pugs, the desire to participate in pvp decreases = less pvp activity = dead pvp. By having a solo queue, more players will have more positive pvp experiences, which encourages pvp participation.

Also, the argument of “premades vs pugs is rare” is a weak argument. Yes, the individual pug player may not experience a premade-vs-pugs scenario frequently, but that premade team will go on to continue steamrolling other pugs and spread more negative experiences to more players. That individual premade may go on to give hundreds of players negative pvp experiences.

Oooooooor they sometimes face other premades? Ever thought of that?
Oh and there is a thread with ALMOST EXACTLY THE SAME TITLE, posted just earlier. Why not post there? Just some basic forum courtesy, please.
Pvp as is is so kitten up bad, i cannot go solo in unranked or ranked just to face premades or 3manq’s, im forced to wait for people to come online to play with them, else pvp is just a waste of time.
If you cant win 45% in solo que in ranked or unranked i dont think it should make a difference for you. I know people winning 60% of there solo ques in ranked games. You want a cookie too?
Just because the enemy team knows how to rotate doesn’t mean they’re a premade. =P
And just because the enemy team has a partial premade doesn’t mean you don’t.
I loved solo queue, but I still see no reason for it to return. As someone who does ranked games solo the vast majority of the time, I see no issue.
It’s been 2 days i’m mostly facing full premades as well. But actually, this isn’t even fun anymore.
I wouldn’t mind having solo vs premades with all players mesmers, thieves and rangers. The point is that all these premades do run setups like double warriors, double guardian and engineer, and they’re only winning thanks to builds..
Also for some reason, people from my team always push far 1v1 when they got someone sitting there all game, and alternatively, no opponent( even when solo) does that when someone in my team is doing it… Seems my luck is nice
I wish I could just opt in to wait longer in order to get an actual solo que’d team.

What about duo queue? LoL has it together with solo queue.

That is what people who weren’t as good as they think they are say. If you are a really good player the best way to prove it isn’t to play well in a good comp/team of good players. Best way is to prove yourself and to CARRY. Hard to do. Very hard. But it was possible.
Also, the argument of “premades vs pugs is rare” is a weak argument. Nope because both premades and solo players are split even more with the current system. Half premades are in ranked and half are in unranked. Which is really stupid. Really really stupid. So often there are 2 good teams queueing at the same time but they never play because 1 is in ranked and 1 is in unranked
In addition nobody plays ranked arena as a true team anymore. Nobody gets 5 guys on ts and uses a good comp. That is because the leaderboards are a joke and because its overkill getting on ts whilst farming solo queuers. Also its boring because you sit 10 minutes in the HOTM waiting for a game and cant do anything fun. THen often as a premade one of your 5 players will go to the kitchen for 30s to get a drink and the queue will pop and you have to queue for another 10 minutes.
Such is the pvp system anet created. The worst pvp system of all time.

It’s quite hard to compare gw2 conquest with Lol Moba. Their gameplay has ‘clear cut’ defined roles and you can really play solo and carry the game just by outfarming your lane, etc. You also queue into lobbies so there’s never a conflict of roles when the game starts.
Conquest in GW2 is one big chaos compared to a Moba. There are no defined roles (from a soloq POV) and it’s much harder to coordinate the rotations (which is the most important aspect to win conquest). Conquest has a very subtle gameplay mechanic: (map)rotations. It’s “impossible” to master and for a big part you depend on your teammates decisions.
I think this is one of the reasons why people hate conquest, there is no clear learning curve. The only learning curve (aside of map awareness) is mechanical, which is pretty limited in gw2. THat’s why it’s so hard to carry, that’s why there is so much QQ. While you may think you’re the best mechanical player, your mechanics won’t weigh so much in the grand scheme of conquest. And while you may think you’re pro at the rotation game, you’re even more dependent on others.
I think it’s very hard to provide a decent soloq experience in conquest, even when all people are on a similar skill level. For the simple fact that you can’t carry (hard). In LoL + Cs:go (+ other games) your mechanical skill can have much more weight compared to GW2.
I have had many blowouts in those, established multi million pvp games. However, there is less reason to blame others (many still do it, but that’s more the natural venting reflex of players) because if you focus on your own gameplay, you can become better and you can most def. carry and have an enjoyable experience. In conquest, I can only hope that my team is on a similar mechanical skill level and is capable of making decent rotational decisions.
Bring back: ‘Gamer’ title + MAT’s!
Throw out: Hotjoin!

I think i have over 75% winrate tho, i still dont like the system

True that mr smith.
I agree somewhat to you OP , but im just not sure there is many players doing pvp enough to warrant seperate Q,s . Could be wrong but i see same players every match
@Kees Flodder Ranked SoloQ is worst idea which came to PVP ever. Plain and simple.
Ranked is meant to be played in team because only then it shows actual skills of your team ( not only you because your team won not you alone). You rarely goes solo vs team on current ranked it was proven many times in posts.
Current system encourage people to group so I can sign with friend and have fun.
It also makes que short which is amazing. This option is great for people like me who do not have that much time to wait for other 5 but want to play with friend or two. So I actually have good experience.
If you want proper Ranked experience get team and play with them.
I think on unranked you meet more often teams vs solo.

It would be nice for Justin to come in and share the statistics on the number of times solo players get match up with a team.
Want to avoid premades, make your own premade.
This is an mmo forum, if someone isn’t whining chances are the game is dead.
Also, the argument of “premades vs pugs is rare” is a weak argument.
Pug vs Pug is rare in EU. I get to see enemies or teammembers with atleast 2 in party.
If I want to Solo Q, I want to play vs other ppl who Queue up Solo. Parties (doesn’t matter what size) are premade and have a big edge above others (TS/exp)
I like how biggest part of community says “No, we’re not premade noobs, only 3 man party”
For the ones not getting it: “Pre” means literally “before”, “made” means.. well.." made"..
So pre-made means a team with party (or parties) made BEFORE the game.
I had a top team once and they had 4 premade. Told them for jokes if I could join their ‘premade’. They said they were no premade but 4 men party and called me stupid lel.
So yea.. I want pugs vs pugs when I pug :>

Statistics like this are misleading. Sure for some dude with MMR right in the middle of the player base = fine, I bet they are always solo vs solo.
For high MMR players (like OP) the system gets worse though because you get matched vs teams more often.

You can’t possibly be serious. You’d rather ONLY face solo players, with a broader skill difference, knowing that premades of TWO players with a MMR slightly lower than yours could be matched against you? As you said, in Europe it’s common to see two-man parties (maybe my perception is biased because I’m often in one myself, and therefore matched with/against them). So it’s a huge chance we have to have more balanced matches. The old solo queue MM was awful, and the queue times were endless. I think this issue is settled now partly because:
1) The numerous solo players that only played tpvp to avoid the queue times and the overall bad play style of soloq are now matched with/against the old yoloq player (remember this nickname? Drop the nostalgia a bit), which means the player pool is bigger
2) The two-man parties are now matched against solo players, like it’s done in LoL for example, increasing the player pool some more and bettering the MM.
In the current system, if your party size is bigger, you get an artificial increase in party MMR, which means the system acknowledges that it gives you an advantage. According to you, how much of an advantage is it to duo queue? Magically, two bad players become an unstoppable force? When some players are concerned about getting premade matched against them, they are not talking about duoq. That’s ludicrous.
For high MMR players (like OP) the system gets worse though because you get matched vs teams more often.
That’s probably partially true, as good players tend to play in teams. But you say it in your statement: it’s a question of player base: there are not enough good players queuing solo. Can you blame them? I can’t imagine it’s more fun to 500-0 some average solo players rather to have more balanced matches against a partial premade.
One can also argue that this argument sounds like a perfect excuse for supporting your own elitist delusion against every evidence. “Yes, I’m sure the system works fine for every other noob out there, but you gotta understand, when you’re as good as me, you get this problem. You wouldn’t understand…”
Furthermore, I have yet to find a single post on this forum complaining about constantly getting premades where this was actually confirmed. On the other hand, we had plenty of cases where the poster was just delusional. I’m not saying that’s the case here. Just that it happened in the past.

This isn’t any different than a bad pugger going on to give a negative experience to hundreds of games. It’s not particular to premades.

With 2 it’d be ok. It’s the most that should be able to join together, for sure.
