but the water was fun :c people just don’t like map complexity/strategy…. Just see the BETA state of some maps…

they removed the map because they refuse to balance water skills in pvp.
Rangers were or still are nearly immortal in underwater combat, with the addition of druid I don’t think anyone could beat them at the underwater capture point, it all would be about who got a druid on his team or which one of the druids is there quicker to capture it first.

Bad decisions. By now they could have made a ‘water free’ version of the map already, or say, have the cap point only reachable by water, but once it’s reached it’s above water in a cave. I don’t think offpoint water fight’s will throw things that fast out of balance then.
The two beach points where one of the most fun area’s to fight, with all the line of sighting, etc.
No excuse anymore for not giving ‘hide mounts’-option
No thanks to unidentified weapons.
My best times in pvp were on this map back then where 8vs8 (or was it 10vs10? ) were a thing.
I would be more than happy if they would just add it back to just hotjoin with or without the waters…I would still prefer it with the underwater combat
Please Anet…for once just make changes that promote fun for everyone and not just ranked stress and boring queue simulators and lazy slow balance that doesnt work

More likely the fundamental problem with their team structure than being lazy.
Some of you may already know this but “Profession Skill balance team” is different from “PvP balance team”. So the best we get from complaining or whatever on this forum is always MMR adjustments, remove maps or amulet changes. When it comes to skill balance team they’re responsible for not only PvP, but PvE and WvW as well. So it becomes hideous to balance and probably even futile. Ultimately the core population in GW2 is PvE, not PvP.
Just look at guardian and mesmer underwater skills and you’ll see how much rework they need to do, so I doubt they’ll pool too much resource into complete rework of underwater combat balance.

I dunno if it’s possible, but instead of removing water, maybe they can make same custom water skills exclusive to this map for everyone, like Dragon ball event but only when players are in the water area. Can be a shark transformation for example with some exclusives skills.

I liked the map, I didnt like the underwater combat. Always a lot of action going on in this map, especially in 8v8
i get nostaligic about a lot of things (like 8v8 pvp, full template customization)
but capricorn was the worst map back then,
it had every gimmick i don’t want to see.
NPCs, water combat, long range environmental weapons.
plus one of the points was underwater, forcing people to play that thoroughly flawed side of the game.
