Bring back consecutive wins (from RA Gw1)
There should be a Gauntlet Mode/Hardcore Mode where you could have the queue start right when the match ends (no need to exit match) and you would not be able to change your builds between matches (RA/HA)
I think with the current queue times and community size though, 25 is a bit much. Make it 15, and after the 15th win, perhaps some unique PvP rewards/chest.
The issue I see with rewards though, is that you want to incentivise people to go for the long haul, but you don’t want people to try and match manipulate for “free wins”
this is a terrible idea. So because I carried you once I am now forced to keep carrying the same newbs regardless of what I want to do until we lose? That is really silly. If you play a game and win and you liked your team then you can party up and que with them on purpose forcing a re q seems dumb to me some of the wins I have there are ppl on the team kittening and moaning all game I dont want to re q with them on purpose weither we won that game or not.

You still could leave RA after win, if you disliked your team.
@ Zietlogic; For sure but match manipulate for free wins would likely be a little difficult and to little reward lets be honest, we don’t get much as it is and I’m sure the maximum consecutive win reward would match that so it would be going far out of your way to manipulate it for such a miniscule reward. Also I like the number 15, even 10 was stuck on the idea of consecutive wins blinded my mind on how much longer conquest is compared to 5v5 death match
@ Doobachoo; simple fix, leave the team, I said no where that it forced you to stay, make it a button you hit, maybe you’d find people aren’t just exiting match immediately but hanging around saying GG’s and such and decide to all queue again. I just find it a little shocking a game that wants their player base to form teams does little to support/assist the process
Did not play GW1… But kitten this RA thing from the previous game seems like a great idea. Would be fun and also there is simply no downside to this, only positive!
Liked your team? Stick with them and have fun! Did not like them? Leave team and go queue again.
@Phantom; This so much, there is no downside to having the option, also I am far from a coder but it would seem most of the code that’s needed (party invite, joins etc.).
You said GW1, from that point on devs will stop reading and disregard your suggestion, sadly.
Hopefully not :P I didn’t say I wanted them to bring back Ra itself, just used it as an example of where it was previously implemented and formed a fun, successful and competitive team spirited environment/aspect to PVP to players whom often roll in less then a 5 man premade (majority of the population).
We already asked many times about bringing back this amazing feature, I don’t remember even a single response from Anet…
Yeah I remember that pvp system from gw1; loved it. though i’d love to say it’ll work wonderfully here, historically, anet just doesn’t implement these types of game modes the players want back from gw2.
Remember though We’re not asking for Ra itself, if Arena net wanted to add TDM that would be awesome as well but a simple feature such as the option to continue with your current team promotes forming teams = more teams queuing helping with the “premades are facerolling me” as more and more players will have access to people to message and play together.
From my understanding of the way PVP has been handled (removing solo queue etc.), Arena net does want players forming teams. This option provides a way that they can support and promote forming teams and grow their competitive scene as a whole as more and more players knit the bonds of battle.
@Domino; again, we are not asking for Ra back, simply some support from Arena net to find teams/team mates we enjoy playing with which would (presumably) grow their/are competitive scene.
this, all this… gw1 RA was PERFECT matchmaking.. short q’s, decent matchups and if not… another chance. pl0x anet
I’m happy without the TDM portion (even happier with but another battle for another day..), just bring back the consecutive wins, support the game in the way you want us to play it (as a team) by providing us with this simple (I mean I’m no professional coder but) request. For those whom wish to play solo and only ever solo they never have to hit that button, hell make a useful button for us to click once we have accepted queue besides exit after they match is done (I’d say and ready up but common we already know how many matches start early because of that).
Please Anet (if this is not falling of deaf ears [more appropriately blind eyes]), implement this for us, It was fun, brought added competitiveness and helped formed teams/friends (in Gw1 for other areas cause its not like we sync queued..). This just seems especially important in a PVP game that ONLY supports team play as you cannot choose to solo play (against solo players).
Long story short this can only be healthy for the game and as state above it’s not believed you have ever given feedback on the topic so talk with us, work with us as to why or why not we could implement this!
Terrible idea, no thanks.
@ Infantrydiv; very constructive… Also the thing is if you don’t support the idea you don’t have to use it! so consider yourself unaffected fi this were to be implemented, though I don’t know you I will assume there is always a chance you change your mind when you see what this can bring to the non anti social competitive crowd

Matchmaking is already sketchy enough without adding in weird variables like this. The system still seems to randomly put top players on one team vs players I’ve never heard of before on the other. This will just encourage more imbalanced super pugs.
Oh and one more thing, given how little resources are put into matchmaking and pvp infrastructure, this idea should be given no priority whatsoever.
first, they should make the games shorter.
consecutive wins only works for
annihilation game mode
totally random match making
means, no match making causing 20 minutes queues for 10 minutes games
where the game ends after the first team skirmish
not 10+ minutes sumo ring fights.
@ infantrydiv;
- “put top players on one team vs players I’ve never heard of before on the other”. From the sound of it you either consider yourself a top tier player or have been on a team with people you have never heard of while facing a team of “top tier” players, either way the argument is moot as one does not need to be an Esports, YouTube, or Twitch star (aka heard of) to sit in a high mmr bracket or simply be a talented player
- Top players will/can queue as a team to begin with, there are many talented solo players out there, this system would give them a chance to shine in a team environment by being able to continue with teammates they generally would have never spoken another word to after their one match together was complete, perhaps giving more competition against “top players” queuing as a premade.
- “given how little resources are put into matchmaking and pvp infrastructure, this idea should be given no priority whatsoever”, this shouldn’t take much time to implement as its by no means a huge overhaul so given your idea of “little resources” being put into our PVP infrastructure this change should fit perfectly as little resources is needed for it and could assist the matchmaking system greatly by supporting or at the very least giving players the option to find teammates whom later they can queue together with as well.
You said GW1, from that point on devs will stop reading and disregard your suggestion, sadly.
This is true…. Sadly.
if there is like a popup after the game that asks if you want to reque with that team or not then by all means this idea has no real downside. Sometimes I would def say yes sure re q but not all the time so a choice popup or whatever would handle that its not a bad idea if implemented properly.
