Guild Wars 2

In Guild Wars 1 they had the /resign command, making it so you could forfeit a games, rather than suffer through an impossible match. Now, that only worked if the whole team did it but, I still think that enacting the same system in Guild Wars 2 PvP scene would be real helpful, especially with how bad match ups are right now. Surely, no one enjoys starting a game, knowing that its a 100% loss, because of the players they are stuck with. I mean, at very lest, it would let you show disapproval of the match up, instead of going into blows, with harsh words. =/

They won’t do it. They took it out of pvp for a reason. The same reason they took out a lot of available emotes.

Trolling and Match Manipulation

They don’t want to see more of the good old “red resign” days.

A week ago I would of said that was ridiculous…. after losing a match 640 to 18… (spawned camped on the portal at foefire) i’d say it may have merit. :/

no. Rewards or the no pip loss possible when fighting hard should be done so players won´t throw a match. I would even go for dishonour when AFK ing …

I’ll agree it has merit. There have been plenty of games where one side has ended up 4v5 or the game was just poorly matched (13 to 500) where one side was just saying “just make it quick please.” The ability to resign would definitely have been nice, so people could move on. However, the fact that its as abusable is it is, holds us all hostage.

In wow pvp you can vote in surrender with majority winning the vote. GW2 has this mechanic in vote to kick from a party, all they have to do is apply it to the match. Still lose mmr still lose pips but don’t prolong the inevitable

better give automatically oe point to higher mmr team and remove from the other.
80% of the matches are non sense.

If this is used, then only a full 5 player vore should end the match. But even then. Encourage playes to fight not to give up ….

It should only take 4 players to vote, the afk players doesn’t have to vote another reason to do this is in some matches the verbal abuse is so offensive even if its not directed at you its tough to endure. Many times I would rather just leave especially if its a blowout to begin with.

500 v 10 . .. I’m sure the 10 would love to have the resign or surrender to go to a different game. It happens way more often than one who does not PvP would think.

This system of win 1/lose accelerates the problem. We explained after season 1 beta why it was bad .. So they changed it for season 2 beta to be points threshold…
Then ANET does a real season with points threshold now full u turn … It’s win or lose only for points.

Does anyone not learn anythihg?
