Bug in skill tree - BREAKING BALANCE!
use your glory to get tome of knowledge cost 1.5k glory and 20 silver.
you will need 37.5k glory and 5 gold to 25 levels
There’s a new vendor, you may want to check it out.

While its not a major issue, this does need to be corrected. sPvP is meant to be a level playing ground for everyone, paying skillpoints doesn’t seem very level to me.

It is a major issue, actually. It costs 37.5k glory and 5 gold for 25 levels, but that’s not even including the 3 levels you need to gain before you hit level 5 and can gain skillpoints. On top of this, you have to do it for every single character that you make.
To get the new heals on one of each class is actually 336k glory and 44.8 gold. How is this acceptable?! That doesn’t even include the cost of unlocking future skills!
all is vain
yeah its a bad decision and it takes back something that was unique to gw2’s pvp comparing to other mmos: the level playing field. Even if its not a major unbalance, I can’t try all the new heals by myself to better know how to counter them when I’m up against them. And that was something that gw2 was perfect in.
I agree with the OP.
Every time I think about skill unlocks in pvp it makes me really mad.
Ridiculous change and to whoever thought it was a good idea: IT ISN’T. CHANGE IT.
I support the change and I think the argument: “More skills will confuse new players” is dull. I mean, it’s only one skill! And even if it was more, new players will get confuse regardless. Afterall, they are new.
I hope this isn’t making way for more, real, gear grind. Even this should be corrected.
Come on anet, do you have short term memory? Do you remember why you split PvP and PvE in the first place?
really bad engineer
with the lvl 20 scroll it should be faster, no?
didn’t try it, but i guess you will get the amount of skill points to lvl 20.
besides that, if you would be able to gain some XP by pvp’ing, it would be a bit better to achieve
no gutz no glory
“Tranquility has a beard.”
Play necro. That way you won’t have to bother with the new healing skill.
This breaks thier philosophy of leveling the playing field between new pvp’ers and veteran pvp’ers. Say a really good build is discovered with the new heals in it. Anyone even wanting to try it out has to level that class to 25.
Being able to swap classes/builds easily is a major reason I chose GW2 of other PvP games. I hate this decision. The more this kind of thing happens, the more likely I am to drop PvP completely.

That’s some nice ad hominem you’re displaying there. The argument you propose does not exist for the purpose of this thread, yet somehow you make an issue of it.
What people are annoyed at is that pvp is meant to have no barriers to entry. Just because you have the potential to get something doesn’t mean its classed as no barriers to entry.
I’m fortunate enough to have gotten into wvw during season 1 of the leagues so I was able to buy the new heal skill straight up. However for alot of people this is not an option, and to expect people to start having to farm in order to be on a LEVEL PLAYING FIELD is completely not fair and goes against the original philosophy of pvp in guild wars 2 (a philosophy that was the cause of many people picking up this game).
I’ll repeat parts of what i said in my earlier post…..
Amulet? Free. Sigils? Free. Runes? Free. Starting level gear? Free. New heal skills? Not free.
I don’t quite get your point. The only reason I mentioned the new players’ discourse, is that it was the dev’s statement to why the new skills would cost SP in PVP. They didn’t want the new players to jump into PVP, and get overwhelmed by so “many” new skills
