Bunker Guard is Dead
2 and a half pages of people who want minstrel back … And then there is chaith
This thread does not speak for the community as a whole or even a majority. Minstrel amulet is the most boring amulet to play and play against. I do not want it back and I could care less what the ESL players in this thread want for their tournaments, I just want a solo q that is actually fun and not timed out every time.

I thought that the most boring amulets are Berserker/Marauder.
Timed out because you cant kill anyone? Thats a l2p issue. Try running a non cele build, youll have a much better shot

Okay, I’ll just watch your pro double dodge distortion techniques again on an assassins amulet to learn how to kill bunkers.
Who do you play for? Sorry i forgot.
Long Live [ASAP] Zerg: The greatest guild that ever was or will be.
The only counter play to ministrel druid was moa, the only counterplay to moa(or double moa) was svanir rune, now svanir rune is gone moa have no counter play, moa is aids, moa isn’t life. pls remove it and give them triple more damage on gravity well idc
Druid problem not a minstrel problem.

I think the pure Support role should be better supported in PvP. That can be done through better ways than increasing personal survivability (1vX) of Supports/Bunkers, which is the definition of Minstrel Amulet.
Except survivability is the only kind of support that is useful in a PvP environ. All PvP -even conquest- can be boiled down to killing the other team faster than they kill you, after all dead people can’t cap nodes. Because of this fact the only thing remotely useful outside of raw DPS is going to be survivability.
Yes, you could do support roles that are not based around increasing team survivability. But there would be 0 reasons to ever take such a support class over a DPS role of some type.

October 31, bunk guard still dead.

Keeping minstrel would actually speed up games in the long run. By taking that one extreme support or bunker build you can then run a much glassier setup. 1 minstrel 3 zerk and 1 bruiser would become a viable comp, which results in much more burst play and exciting res situations that get the audience on the edge of their seat. You are complaining about slow boring games, which is exactly what the cele meta produces. Noone wants to watch a bunch of wet noodles flopping arond
Thank you! Give this man a round of applause. <clap clap clap>
I think a nomad (tough/heal/vit) amulet would be amazing for bunker guards. Since toughness is apparently too OP (or something like that), maybe a heal/tough/vit (to be in line with cleric) is the answer.
Try the Boon duration Amulet, with Durability or Leadership runes.
If you can’t be an effective support with those 2 items then the problem is further into your traits/sigil synergy with your playstyle.

support isn’t the issue. The problem is that bunkers don’t have the survivability to back the support since they go down if they so much as tapped by a cc. Which with the abundance of cc brought by HoT……

I’m not particularly fond of cele either but if they’re willing to remove one amulet maybe they’re willing to remove another.
Just an example, last week in the last Go4 Cup, the Abjured ran Soldiers x2, Marauder x2, and one Celestial (Tempest).
http://www.twitch.tv/guildwars2/v/22425663
Removing Celestial Amulet would just absolutely delete Elementalists/Tempests from the game. They aren’t dominant right now, but I’m expect people to argue that they are. People need to put down the Celestial Amulet pitchforks, it’s kind of in the past.
Cele Hammer Scrapper on-point fighter is pretty darn amazing, but it’s not really what my team needs yet, so I’m stronger playing a higher damage Soldiers Roamer.
I think deleting Celestial is a possible balance move, as it would be extremely easy to adapt to, from the current meta picks. Unfortunately, it really wouldn’t affect much other than replacing all Eles/Tempests with Cleric Druids.
Then would Soldiers Amulet become the evil cancer? Haha. It’s an amusing concept.
So that tourney was before Minstrel’s deletion. Where are all the less than 200 points on both teams timer matches you spoke of.
Probably on EU, where he said they were.
Still haven’t seen any videos of this either way.

Doesn’t matter to me. I’m just pointing out that when someone says it’s on the EU server and you point that it’s not on a NA video that you aren’t helping your cause.

Well impossible to know since no one has a video. Guess the match was so boring no one recorded it yet it influenced a quick patch to fix it.

Just because we dont have an extra 2-3k health doesn’t mean we have less, we have so many invulnerability it should make up for the low health pool, ontop of the passive aegis application and manual applications.
I’ve found it to be successful and can manage to bunk 1v2 quite well for a long period of time, the suggestion I made works for me and I thought it may help out others.
If we are looking for a bunk build that can tank as effectively as a druid in Minstrel Amulet, I can’t help with that, that is broken.

Well on the bright side bunker mesmer is now a thing Also I’m kinda disappointed that nobody responded to my post on the first page. I guess because nobody had a decent argument towards it, shame. Oh well happy Halloween everyone

Nearly all of the arguments seem to be
“Abjured is self interested and controls Anet” or on the opposite side “Abjured doesn’t like bunkers therefore bunkers are bad cuz abjured”
Like does anyone actually understand the issue, or is this just a Abjured thread?

In my speculation, and nothing more, there’s an extremely high chance that the PvP team acted off of the Weekly EU Thursday cup.
Most notably, Vermillion vs. Car Crash finals.

off one single final? Namely the immediate final after the amulet was introduced when teams haven’t had time to tune counter stratagies?
Besides you cannot ever have a true bunker meta in competitive play because bunkers don’t stack well with other bunkers, and moreover bunker comps suck against bunker comps.

Keep in mind that Minstrel was a FIX to the survivability tanks needed in order to survive the power creep that has happened to the meta. At this point in time both guards and druids need a healthpool boost, it could also help eles to a solid extent as well. Even thief may be revived with a health boost. IMO, delete the lowest health tier and move everyone up to the ranger health pool tier, but leave warrior and necro where they are.
