I’ve mostly seen people abusing the Reapers, Dragonhunters and such than people trying Berserker with the recent buffs. So I cannot know for sure.
The reason yu see people running normal warrior and not berserker is because base warrior is better. like, way better.
everything is great apart from warrior provided the player is good.
every other class has builds that rock in the right hands, the problem is finding those hands.

You can argue they do negligible damage since they lose ring of fire to blast and have to wait 10s for their fire overload to get a fire field for blasting, but they’ll eventually wear you down or escape, kinda like thief but they can actually take some pressure.

You can focus a druid since they’ve got only one escape. I rarely have problems downing non-bunker druids 1v1. Bunker druids can be killed 2v1 if you wait out the stability, but they usually get help by the time that happens.
Replacing fire with tempest can actually make for a really fearsome bunker with OK damage and mobility only outmatched by a thief.
Of course scrapper is better than tempest, but tempest is still a powerful spec in the right hands, even more so than a druid with very limited options and obvious counters.

… what? No offense but do you have any idea what you are on about? Tempest is incredibly weak to cc and focus fire, more so than druid. Our only form of stability is stability (1 stack) on overload, and if we trait that we lose out ALL vigor and regen provided by auras. Earth overload cannot even be considered using because of focus 4 and 5 which are essential to our survival.
With shouts and focus offhand, we have no escape whatsoever. Lightning flash, rtl, fgs, all moot. No mobility to speak of either. We have no stunbreaks either unless we trait for auto stunbreak every 40s but we lose out on aura support upon completing an overload. Tempest is horrendously inferior to druid, so i have absolutely no idea what you’re smoking.

I’m amazed people still have this weird fantasy of chrono being OP… How many chrono do you see in tournaments?

What? 1 escape? We have staff #3, Entangle, Signet of Stone, stealth from Smokescale + Staff #3, Longbow #3 stealth, Quickening Zephir, Lightning Reflexes…
I use the following build (http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vNAQFATjEqQDLWyCusAVLWyEM4baPdo6c4SANumkVA4AUyzSD-TpwVABfWGAg9HAA) and can quite comfortably survive against 2 and kill them. It’s rather silly, especially with clever use of stealth + mitigation.

My ranking is bases on the utility of a profession in a pvp team, the presence in the fight, the survivability/damage ratio. In a big fight, the druid presence is really oppressive (cc, heal, dispel, snare, slow, etc). Same for the Dh (cc, defensive boons, group boons, traps etc). For the Herald is the ratio damage/survivability that is amazing (the guy cold spam the sword #1 and kill you).
Berserker could have a really important damage (rifle/ gs) but the ratio survi/damage is not high and his presence too.
Surprised reapers are not most people’s #1, deathly chill is the most broken trait in the game. Everything else seems pretty balanced to me. Can’t comment on berserker though since I never see them or play them.

The trait that cannot stack the damage above what it currently is to burst you, and I believe can only tick once at a time, so multiple Reapers with the trait only affect uptime, instead of taking 2x the damage from a single tick.
Do you have anything substantial to show that it’s so broken? Or am I just going to see another strange damage breakdown from sPvP that doesn’t look right at all?
Also, how many people commenting on Berserker have played it, and how many are only putting it at the bottom because other people say that’s where it is, and doing otherwise would just result in being shot down? I’ve been meaning to go try it out myself.

Many older core classes need complete overhauls and redesigned. They were originally designed for other core classes and now cannot compete with the new elite specs. If in the case that the same class’s elite spec is underpar as with Warriors, the entire class becomes irrelevant in sPvP.

The damage is fine to me, it’s the fact that necros have a stupid amount of passive chill available to them, alongside the fact that sigil of ice being an “on hit” sigil is what makes deathly chill broken. There is no amount of condi clear that can currently avoid being permanently chilled by a reaper. Because of this, there is a constant 800-1000 damage per tick plus a permanent 66% skill cooldown increase when fighting a necro. However, no reaper will agree that it’s broken because people love staying OP so this argument is futile and we can agree to disagree.

Whenever someone actually shows a log as a basis for damage comparison, it’s always 550 – 650 damage per tick, on average, even over 40 or so seconds. The 800 – 1000 is only a potential tick if everything is swinging your way (max vuln/might).
Also, what do people consider “passive chill”? Do you mean chill that comes with something else, like Chill on Fear and Chill on Blind?
I don’t even play a Condi Reaper. I just finally know a thing or two about the class being brought up as OP, so I’m challenging the idea.
Is it broken because it’s impossible for anything to 1v1 it? Is it broken because a Condi Reaper will swing a team fight too easily? It’s just kind of surprising to me that it’s finally a more attrition-based mechanic that is getting flak, instead of burst mechanics. It isn’t like the Necro can apply 5 stacks of Chill and do 3k damage per tick super easily. It’s just very steady soft CC, with very steady damage, that benefits the Reaper in the long run.
I’m just curious what about it is officially OP, and what is just frustrating.

Why run shouts and focus then? Replace fire with tempest and keep your usual utility setup. Take rebound over FGS and aftershock as utility #3. For traits, adept is a toss up between gale song and latent stamina, for master you take invigorating torrent and elemental bastion for GM.
Druid is forced to take an offhand warhorn if they want more reliable blasting of their staff water field, which means they’ll most likely take sword mainhand. Sword, assuming they take cele or cleric for the healing power, does negligible damage and is basically a tool for them to run in circles till they can blast their heals again. Their main source of damage is their smoke and if that goes down, its GG. If they don’t take a heal based amulet, they won’t fill their CA bar on a more consistent basis meaning the amount of heal they put out can barely match an ele’s meaning they’d have to hug team mates to heal multiple targets just to keep their CA charged at a reasonable rate.

There is so much wrong with this kind of threads.
I’ll just toss some random unscientific numbers around:
33% here play different classes in different MMR and rank them as they experience their games. In my expectation builds will have different success based on how ‘skilled’ the players are. So some will find a build extremely strong while other dismantle it.. in the same setting.
33% (believe that they) are good and look at tournaments and what is played there and rank kitten accordingly.
33% are playing in low MMR/hotjoin, steamroll each other with cheese builds while noone has a clue what everyone is doing and expect this to always be the case in all games and rank classes accordingly.
I for myself play different classes in some mysterious MMR and I’m fine with any enemy. When I completely stomp someone or get my balls handed to me by someone else it is most times a skill issue and not a class issue. Some classes I know better, some not; some encounters are easier based on the build, some are not. I won games with 2 warriors, with 3 thiefs, I lost with DH’s, Reapers and Heralds on my team.
I work with what Anet handed to me and try to enjoy it.

Reasoning: this is how i would rank them based on my experience playing against them from the eyes of warrior/necro (i think every class has a natural counter so obviously some will move up or down pending on what you are playing. I also put in non elite proffessions for the simple ability to show how bad of a place warrior is really in….so much so a lot of us have quit maining it. Also to show that some professions have multiple viable builds while others have none.

From my 100% soloQ perspective, I have been most effective with the necro/Reaper
Sadly, I haven’t played in an organized team with the new elites so I can only offer SoloQ feedback.

Good – Druid, Berserker

I hate tiers but here we go.
Transcendent God Tier
Dragon Hunter – I am a firm believer in l2p, and while DH is beatable 1v1, they are INSANE in conquest. Total point denial. There is no counterplay to Dragon’s Maw in Conquest. Your only choice is to fight them off point. And that scoreboard is ticking.
Chronomancer – _Madman you say! This post is garbage! Chronomancer isn’t OP its just shatter 2.0! _ Well, sure. Your average Chronomancer is Shatter 2.0. But in theory, Chronomancer has the highest skill cap in the game. A cap no one has reached yet. Mastery of Continuum Shift will bring about the ruin of everyone except for this theoretical Temporal God. Bow down, beg for mercy, for our time is running out. And only he shall stand in the wake of his deeds.
God Tier?
Herald – Okay so, aside Sword 3, Rev actually kinda gets demolished. However, Herald is where things get nasty. Pre-fight Might stacking is the work of the Devil. (Sadly, Maylax wishes he was the Devil.) This really is pretty OP. But Rev itself isn’t nearly as OP as made out to be. We just need counterplay to Sw3.
Druid Chris Pratt – We have Dinosaurs, you dont. Everyone seems to think Druid is OP. It really isn’t. Reapers demolish us, Condis melt us, we have little stability and Boon strips demolish us. We are tanky bar a few damage druids, we bunker and support team fights. They are God tier because lower tiers cant kill them. And Druid is still a fair margin stronger then the old meta. Reminiscent of old BM Bunk. Thye are still able to demolish many power builds, including DH.
Reaper – OH MY GOD MOM LOOK AT ME I AM LITERALLY SATAN. HAHAHAHAHAHA DIE NERD, DIE DIE DIE DIE DIE DIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
Scrapper – Imagine, John Cena fused with a robot that had little robots and stole King DDD’s hammer. That is Scrapper.
Tempest – Auras, its 3:21 AM and I have collage as soon as I wake up. So this post is going to keep degrading in quality. Do you guys like anime?

You can focus a druid since they’ve got only one escape. I rarely have problems downing non-bunker druids 1v1. Bunker druids can be killed 2v1 if you wait out the stability, but they usually get help by the time that happens.
Replacing fire with tempest can actually make for a really fearsome bunker with OK damage and mobility only outmatched by a thief.
Of course scrapper is better than tempest, but tempest is still a powerful spec in the right hands, even more so than a druid with very limited options and obvious counters.
… what? No offense but do you have any idea what you are on about? Tempest is incredibly weak to cc and focus fire, more so than druid. Our only form of stability is stability (1 stack) on overload, and if we trait that we lose out ALL vigor and regen provided by auras. Earth overload cannot even be considered using because of focus 4 and 5 which are essential to our survival.
With shouts and focus offhand, we have no escape whatsoever. Lightning flash, rtl, fgs, all moot. No mobility to speak of either. We have no stunbreaks either unless we trait for auto stunbreak every 40s but we lose out on aura support upon completing an overload. Tempest is horrendously inferior to druid, so i have absolutely no idea what you’re smoking.
Ill have what youre having.
Why run shouts and focus then? Replace fire with tempest and keep your usual utility setup. Take rebound over FGS and aftershock as utility #3. For traits, adept is a toss up between gale song and latent stamina, for master you take invigorating torrent and elemental bastion for GM.
Druid is forced to take an offhand warhorn if they want more reliable blasting of their staff water field, which means they’ll most likely take sword mainhand. Sword, assuming they take cele or cleric for the healing power, does negligible damage and is basically a tool for them to run in circles till they can blast their heals again. Their main source of damage is their smoke and if that goes down, its GG. If they don’t take a heal based amulet, they won’t fill their CA bar on a more consistent basis meaning the amount of heal they put out can barely match an ele’s meaning they’d have to hug team mates to heal multiple targets just to keep their CA charged at a reasonable rate.
IDK man, I’ve never had much trouble vs druids.
Im having this nagging suspicion that you have absolutely no idea how tempest works. And i think im right.
Let’s address your points. Why take shouts? In simple terms, the entire tempest build is based on aura support, shouts give aoe auras, auras give boons and healing. Boons and healing help your allies and yourself. Reason for using shouts? Check.
Why use focus? Simple, offhand dagger gets kitten d in current meta. At least it does at the level im playing at. Not too sure about lower mmr brackets. Focus offers aoe projectile blocking, targeted ranged cc, condi cleanse and reflect on a skill with short cd. Invulnerability. So on and so forth. Reason to use focus? Check.
Water/Arcana/Tempest does no damage whatsoever. Its a bunker build. And as a bunker, you’re horribly reliant on your team mates to win the game. No thanks, unless im in a premade. Air/Earth/Tempest works much better. If you take gale or latent stamina, you dont give aura share on overload. If you take invigorating torrents, you dont get stab on overload (because we need to be weaker to cc right?). Im not saying you cant run them, but you have to weigh the trade offs.
Druid AA is very strong, and their pet is unlikely to die. Constant dps check. They are not forced to run s/wh either. I have friends who play druid builds without any of those weapons and it still works like a charm. All in all, druid is way better than tempest.

I feel OPer than dd cele ele for this class. these guys should have no dmg at that support level. But unfortunately they do some viable damage also.
