Can someone list me all the skills that drop the orb.

Very irriating when I use a skill and all of a sudden the orb is dropped.

Guardian scepter 3, does that drop orb and focus 5 drops it right?
Any other skills? Does virtue 3 drop it?

They NEED to have skills highlighted that drop the orb. I shouldn’t have to memorize all skills that drop orb.

They just need to give the orb carrier it’s own set of skills. Remove all the class specific stuff. That will balance the map and not surprise people with orb drops.

Some very general rules to go by is:
does this skill teleport you in any way
does this skill make you go invulnerable (0 damage taken from both physical and condition)
if your skill does any of those it probably drops orb.

1. If it stealths you, you drop the orb.

2. If it makes you invulnerable, you drop the orb. (Note that I have not tested whether Endure Pain or Signet of Stone makes you drop the orb, since conditions still work on you.)

3. If the skill teleports you, you drop the orb. (Note that leap skills are not teleports.)

does this skill teleport you in any way
does this skill make you go invulnerable (0 damage taken from both physical and condition)
if your skill does any of those it probably drops orb.

Note that blocking doesn’t drop the orb however.

There are a very limited number of skills in this game anyway. Rogue probably have more skills than 3 professions combined…

By the way, you con summarise this list as all invulns and ports and stealths. Partial invulns like Endure Pain, Signet of Stone, or Berserker’s Stance, Elixir C lets you keep the Orb. Downed state makes you drop Orb, area stealths that hit you make you drop Orb. You can obviously use this in a coordinated fashion to pass it along.

I think if you try to use hunter’s shot when carrying the orb that you get an immune message and the stealth fails, but you don’t drop the orb.

Thanks for list, anet should still indicate somehow on the skillbars that using the skill will drop orb while carrying orb.

The skill that kept messing me up was renewed focus, never knew it was invulnerability skill until now. I just used it to spam my virtues and spam them all over again.

For Mesmers, note that Illusionary Counter also makes you drop the orb if you actually block an attack, since it also does a short range random teleport.

No.. for warrior, rampage drops orb.

Why would that be though? It doesn’t teleport you, stealth you or make you invulnerable. Unless all transforms also make you drop the orb?

for mesmer add:
Phase Retreat, Mirror Images, Sword and Scepter Block (only if successful) Swap(Sword #3) The trait that forces stealth at 25% health, Torch 4.

aka just dont pick up the orb if you play mesmer

Also Obsidian Flesh for eles (invulnerability).
