Btw: It’s Sey-Shi-zo ^.^
Can anyone explain how this is possible?

maybe and indicator for pvp-population
or bad matchmaking
or both
not talking about leaderboards
This is why I quit ranked and realize the ladder is junk.
Just wait for a better implimated rank system (and possibly a better match type other than point holding)
well if u queue at around 3-5am during a week day then the queue time is around 10-18minutes and the setup is about the same… than its kind of understandable
but when its prime time and I even see other streamers get into matches with other higher ranked player than I don’t get it

yeah maybe santa claus or some fairy godparents will deliver it
its working as intended because they are not enough players.
once i was playing team arena and then got matched up with the leaderboard top 50 players, 4 of them are former top 10 players.
Yes, I am pretty certain if there was a page where you could view everyone who was in queue, you’d see that there were just not enough players.

Did you take the ranking for the one guy before or after that game? I’m guessing you got it from after the game; in which case, do you have any proof that he wasn’t previously ranked under 1000 as a product of decay? I recently played a solo q match the other day and went from the 1000s to rank 8 or so.
Past that (and the afk’er which always sucks :/), I don’t see anything too crazy going on here. Both teams’ mean elo looks about the same. Idk, maybe I’m just accustomed to the craziness that the matchmaking system can produce, but this seems pretty tame compared to some of the kitten I used to see.
To clarify, this is not to make light of the system’s problems. It can definitely be terrible at times. I’m just offering my best guess as to how this game came about.
If the system tries to average ELO then being higher ranked is going to suck a lot if there are not enough high ranked people online Q’ing. You will be placed with the worst players in the given game and it WILL be harder. Same thing happens in DOTA2 and LoL if you Q with friends far below your skill level… and it sucks there too.
I think average ELO is a very imperfect measure of the actual effectiveness of a team. Particularly if class mix is ignored by the matcher.
So even if the average ELO is numerically the same between the two teams, in actuality the team ability of each team might be completely different.

It happens to me all the time. A couple of days ago I pushed back into the top 10 of SoloQ on a nice winning streak. My entire team for the next match had never been in top 1k on either ladder. We started off with a 2-cap and 50-100 point lead, but then one of my party members decided to go offline, and another one went afk. So that was GG.
The SoloQ matchmaking really isn’t to be taken seriously. Sometimes you get good matches, but more often it is just a bad mix of varying levels of skill and care. Surely that match meant much more to me being the top 10 than it did to the casual players on my team who had never been ranked. But until we get either a better matchmaking system, a greater population, or both, these problems will continue.

As someone who is consistently ‘Top 20’ in SoloQ – I have to say that I hate it. Not many ‘Top 20’ actively play because they care too much about their precious rank. Anyway, I will queue at the same time with people from around ‘Rank 40-160’ but I will never get a match when they do and will get a longer queue only to be put with 9 nobodies who aren’t even ranked. I gave some players so much kitten earlier because of this happening even though it wasn’t their fault.
If you want to avoid kitten like this then leave the queue after 5 minutes. Only problem here is that you will have to wait 3-4 hours for a match.
