Because let’s face it, ability on the battlefield depends on build at least as much as skill.

Having them combined also contributes to the problem of everyone playing clone builds. I feel like I “shouldn’t” play my weaker chars in PvP because it will harm my team and also possibly harm my ranking.

This may seem a minor issue but I think it’s a major factor in the lack of participation and build diversity in PvP.

its fine as it is. if i queue up on mesmer i may want to switch to some other class to balance the team.

I didn’t realize you could swap characters while in queue. That would indeed be a problem.

I just think that this system encourages high-level people to play min/max because playing a lesser character means they get stomped.
