Necro specialization has to be Banshee, Anet has said that there will be a full 5-shout specialization in the Xpac and I’m 99.99% sure it will be Banshee on necromancer.

I still think it’s Ritualist. The sudden ranger spirit rework is highly suspicious, and would also aid well to our need for support. There is also lore behind Majory who Uses a spirit great sword that contains her sisters spirit.

Necro Shouts would be cool, would also fit with a cool name……..

New Necro specialization is the Death Knight, now utilizing……nothing new. ;P

Doubt it will be “Ritualist”. For the same reasons that the Guardian will never have a “Paragon” specialist.

If the game ever ends up expanding into Cantha and Elona, chances are those professions will be there waiting for us.

in irish folklore it’s a woman, yet marvEl has a male superhero called banshee. My guess is it is still shouts but it won’t be called banshee.

Orders reintroduced as shouts would be amazing, it was a great GW1 build, plus it can help address our dire need for support.

No rifle+shouts would surprise me just like Dragonhunter ohmergerd don’t make it happen, that would mean necro gets stances instead. Does it really matter anyway?

Comedic gold this is and I think elementalist’s will get glamours while necro’s get cantrips with the necro specialization being called dreadlord.

Necro’s spectral skills are like its version of cantrips already.
Necro will get either (in order of most likely): glyph, spirit, manipulation, with survival and elixir being highly unlikely but workable.

well my brother Hollts, I hope that they don’t call it a Banshee cause all male Necros will have to do a gender change when they go Banshee spec seeing as all banshees are female

Banshee would be a really awesome concept, but doesn’t the name naturally exclude—-you know, all male necromancers from taking it because you know—-lore-friendliness

kitten lore, marvel has a male Character called banshee, for some reason I don’t think Ireland is in Tyria anywhere so there goes that lore logic.

It could be called wraith instead of banshee. They make loud noises. They made a non-reference to Captain America for the Mesmer’s shield. Necro is getting greatsword, and if they got shouts and were wraiths... LotR dark-rider/ringwraith non-reference?

Banshee is a white dressed female ghost, which is bound to particular family/house and either her lament predicts the death of family member or seeing her predicts yours. Irish mythology.

Closest would be slavic “Bies”. More of a “humanized” evil, but can send death when seen as big rooster squeaking three times at night.
But I very, very much doubt that American ArenaNet would’ve ever heard about this one.

I agree. Our class in pve involves a lot of dagger one spam which is already boring. Giving us a defiance bar sounds really boring as well. Hoping for something innovative like chronomancer’s changes. Shouldn’t get my hopes too high though….

Mesmers stole Epidemic from us in gw1, we just got it back for gw2 as it’s true owners

Risen killer. Just joking. I really see Banshee becoming a thing. Why? It doesn’t fit Ele with shouts, Warriors obviously don’t need more shouts, possibly Revenant but I highly doubt it and thief it would be a contradiction to it’s profession.

I believe ele spec will have shouts. We know its called Tempest. Which is wind/storm themed. Which is pretty fitting for shouts/chants. So i dont think banshee is likely.

If we’re on shouting, it could get more interesting, less obvious name, too. Like Guardian.

Banshee is a female fairy, anyway. That specialization would require a total makeover for some.

While I like the idea of getting Shouts, Orders might indeed work as Venoms in GW2.

Venoms are essentially self-applied Orders, which is why we are hoping Orders would be classified as shouts, to make them AoE by default. Also a good way to get easy condi removal.
