Can we convince ANET to set a min rank
befor they saperate solo and team arena i joind with a frend we bouth ware 51+ and for the 3 spots left we had 3 ppl rank 1
now i get some rabits from time to time as well probably new ppl are scared to play pvp becosue of the no skill meta atm
if they needed rank 10-20 to join arena then they will go to 10v10 and lear noob tacktiks i say the can join solo arena but all bellow rank 20 to be in difrent pool awso wen you are rank 1 you begin from 0% on leaderbords so you dont be teamd up with ppl who fouth hard for ther rank
Champ mesmer, engy, rangar, necro, guardian, warrior

For Solo qeue tournaments? I cannot tell you how often I’m teamed up with a guildless individual wearing the starter armor and using starter skills. The last one literally, not trolling, literally didn’t know they were in a tournament.
Please create a minimum rank of 10 (preferably 20) in order to create a stable and balanced playing field for all.
You can argue that it’s fair because anyone can get matched up with these people, but that’s inaccurate unless we’re talking about the long term. Hundreds if not thousands of matches would need to be played.
I’m tired of my kitten luck. Fix this ANET.
I love your topic, its like you know we (community) agree with you.
Well I am sorry but this game has barely any dedicated PvP players left and you want more restrictions for new players who want to try out PvP? Why dont we just all out kick, punch, curse and laugh at new players and put them in small corner where they can hang out with their own kind since we are so superior compared to them? That surely get more people to play PvP!
Sorry, dumb idea and I hope it will not happen. Oh and incase you didnt know. Solo Q does not matter, its improved version of Hotjoin which should have been like that since launch.

While it is true that the number of actual PvP players is quite low, a tournament game type is not where new players should ‘try out’ pvp. That’s what the non-ranked hot-joins are for. Now, it is true that soloQ can by no means be considered hardcore, a setting where it is in your best interest to win matches to improve your overall position in the leaderboards is hardly a place for a newbie to start off.
Were rank restrictions to be included, it would at least quarantee that your team knows the rules, the goal and has even the slightest amount of map-awareness. As of now, most of the lowbies don’t know a kitten what they’re supposed to do, and insteaed flail around the map being free kills for the opposite team, simply because they do not know the setting and are not used to actually fighting people with brains.
Besides, the rank restriction could be minimal, i.e. r10 as said in the OP, which can be achieved in a mere day of sPvP’ng. It would be no real hinder to the growth of the community, while it would make sure that people know the setting before entering competitive play.

Thousand Lakes Alliance [TLA], Desolation
4 Champion titles, solo/duoq Legend, best old LB rank 64.
Last solo match I played I was rank 17 with all other 20+
I scored highest on both teams
Rank 20 would be ridiculous. Even rank 10 is alot of hours in sPvP. Get it in a day? Hahaha… sPvP isnt even done by 95% of the player base, lets not give them a ridiculous amount of credit for their awesomeness as PvPers.
The solution to the “problem” is real simple: better matchmaking and team balancing. Teams should be ranked like 40/36/28/32/37 vs roughly equal numbers, not 40/2/5/15/31 vs 1/5/3/3/50. Or of course two newbie teams with no higher ranks than 5-10 or something. If ranks end up bad and all over the place, then there would be one of two conclusions: The system is broken or there are no one playing but these players.
Good luck playing if its the last case – You’ll enjoy playing solo in solo tournaments when the other 4 players are cut out due to a silly rank requirement. Its in the name after all.
