Can we do something about condi?
Power and condi has nothing to do with “skill”.
This is a problem with that build.
Are you getting stomped by condi ele??
Anyways condi is still minority.
Thief, Mesmer and Necro are three exceptions which makes you hate condi:) Maybe we can add a condi Engineer on the list, even though he has zero survivability and it is probably the rarest build out there, ant that’s it.
Never had any problems with condi Warriors, Revenants, Eles, Rangers, maybe some hard times with burning Guards … Luckily only the minority of thieves play condi builds.

Actually majority of thieves are playing condi builds. Okay, I doubt that in diamond and up there are so many of them, bit many more players are in the lower divisions.
Condi thief is a result of Anet laziness…how can build which requires no skill be so rewarding? However, it’s easy to counter them with some classes. Condi thief most usually will have trait to remove condition when he evades attack. Simply hit him with some conditions (if you are condi player) and stand. He will simply die.
I totally agree that those easy play condi builds are simply too strong comparing to skill requirement. I am playing many pvp games every season, my main used to be thief, however I have refused to be one of those useless players. You can spot p/p thieves, who are very easily killable…but still, damage comparing to skill requirement is just too high. When you see thief without SB…well…he isn’t a thief.
Conditions aren’t the biggest issue here. Biggest problem is that every newbie who has no skill can kill more skilled players just because of their ridiculous builds.
Lol at anyone who thinks they are skilled and losing just because condition builds are “skillless.”
You all always cite to “condi is skillless” as though it is gospel truth without any justification whatsoever. Whoever started that meme is a genius of marketing to create something people parrot unthinkingly for so long.
I’ve fought every single condition build in this game. So I know exactly how good the classes are respectively and how good conditions as a whole are. Are there easy builds to play? Yes. Do conditions themselves make them easy? No.
I’ve fought newer players on all the trouble builds (power and condi) and they die quick. The veterans are the ones who do well. And that’s because they have “skill,” by which I mean mechanical knowledge of class and game mechanics required to succeed using a build.
Take condi mesmer/ chrono for example. That’s a condi build that gets a lot of hate. I’ve fought newer ones who were terrible. I’ve fought experienced ones who were ridiculously survivable, stealthy and damaging. The difference was skill.
Skillless? Lol.
You cant play anymore power builds which are the essence of actual skill.
I almost spilled my drink reading this! Nice one.
Condi thief is fairly skill-less, to be fair. It’s also very hard to upskill though, so if you can get good enough to beat it, you’ll probably always beat it.
If you’re struggling with condi, DH is my go to since it can deal with spam as well as having options to get rid of single damaging stacks (Although, I’d much rather see clear toned down and the whole “6 different condis with 1 skill” get deleted at the same time).
Condis are good, Can kill you and a condi build Have to be able to kill you. That grant a lot of build diversity to the game.
Told that, Power is still the best way to kill someone. Faster, can’t be cleaned, toughness amuleta are rarely used and there’s even lesser builds that spam boons because everyone fear the necro corruptions.
Only Mesmer is forced to go condition, all the other classes have really good options to go Power and frequently do better than with condi.
We’re in a Power meta, after all.
Anyway, condi thief is a finger in the…… because you have to know a little his skills and tactic, then you need few condi cleans to survive and be able to CC/burst him when he end the dodge chain. If you do so it’s really easy to kill a condi thief, reason why there’s so few of them in high tier pvp.
But jes, the condi thief is really easy to play and grant an easy victory against players that don’t know how to fight one.
I can tell you the same thing I tell to who think that the burn guardian is OP: learn to fight your enemy and you’ll never lose again against him.
They both are forced to extremely static builds that do always the same thing without chances to change or adapt. Find the right timing and your enemy will die, no matter what he try to do.
Then, if your build is expecially weak against conditions try to chance a trait, a utility or adapt a little.
Do practice, try your enemy build in some unranked, learn some skills and the rotation and you will win at 100% every single time.

First, nobody are saying you can’t counter them. Second, if you are saying that mindless spamming of few buttons is skill, then okay. Fact is that people who are choosing those simple and quite damaging builds are simply less experienced than a person who can quite nicely deal with d/p build. All tou do with a condi thief build is hit few buttons and wait until enemy will have all his cleanses on cooldown. I am playing condi warrior now and I think it’s way overpowered. So yes, those who are playing condi thief builds are simply skill-less and are unable to master more rewarding builds as they require skills and thinking.
No, I’m suggesting that mindless spam of a few buttons won’t work. And I’ve fought people and know the difference.
If all someone does is spam 3 on d/d and dodge…I will end them in less than 5 seconds.
You know what funny thing is? That condi Thief is not the easiest build imo: p/p Power Thief can do it even easier with just spamming #3 (Unload) from distance and, that’s advance playstyle, dodging and stealth when needed. Oh, and p/d condi Thief is not complicated as well:P
No game with 5 weapon skills and 5 utility skills is “complicated.”
It’s the rest of it: positioning, timing, trait planning, mechanics etc which make it somewhat complex.
Playing P/D relies on offhand dagger for stealth and has a use for skills 1-4 in various circumstances.
P/P is also quite vulnerable if not played with lots of other traits/skills FYI. But, you’re right the alpha spike of chaining unloads is a little absurd :p
I still use power and “zerk” builds
Ive seen many top damage/kills stats and on top of that for most of the match I see my name “on a rampage” quite often
Usually unless my team just got screwed over by matchmaking that’s what happens whether or not ppl are running condi or not which……is actually easy to counter
Ive beaten condi builds on my Mesmer, thief, rev, and my necros
You can counter condi
