Well, it depends on the class, as some core builds can do as good as any elite do, but yeah, most of the time, the Elite specialization has more defensive traits or support skills which are a great deal in PvP.

While I agree that core builds are somehow underperforming, I don’t think that having a different queue for HoT classes and non-HoT classes are the solution. IMO, they did it right by buffing the core guardian virtues (and not the Dragonhunter ones) and balancing the skills of the core class instead of the entire class might be the way to go from the now on. Is the core guardian on par with the Dragonhunter right now for most builds? Not at all, because traps are kinda one of the best tool the Dragonhunter has, but it does more damage than it did before this patch.

That will require time, but it might be better for everyone.

Id rather them balance elite specs than create a whole new queue list. But I wanna play core spec too, without being at disadvantage by default.

Theres not enough players in this game to have 2 dfferent Qs for 5 man and solo and you want them to add this type of Q? LOL

Agreeing with pyrocyborg and TheAngryDuckling here, better Balance would be way more helpful than a new Queue.
And with the last patch we saw them take that route slowly, so let’s just hope for the best.

By the way: Playing a core necro so far has been very good for me, the build i play puts a lot of pressure on DH from what i can tell, and there are way too many in each round, and often has lead to a point where the enemies where outpressured.

I’m playing core guard hovering around t1 platinum right now. It’s funny how even the best players will either QQ about my traps which I don’t have or call burns op. It’s been fun but I know I’m maxing out the builds potential at low platinum so I’ll have respec back to DH if I decide to move up farther.

I don’t feel at any disadvantage playing with core necro. Heck it’s one of the reasons I’m in Platinum right now.

When leveraging the core professions, you just need to know where their strenghts are. And you can easily do it and even carry with them.

I was playing around with this on my alt non-HoT account (yay $5 sales). What utilities do you run? I’d like to fit in corrupt boon for it’s unblockability, but I feel like I need Signet of locust and plague and need the stunbreak of spectral armor too much to slot these in.
