Ok this is going to sound crazy but imagine just for a minute how much fun this could be as a mode with 0 effect on ranking during seasons and no influence on your mmr anywhere else:
This mode would be a “battle of the gods” type thing, everyone would get to select their gear stats (ascended level) and have all their traitlines maxed out. Then you try to see who can make the most op build and destroy everyone else. I think it’d be a fun way to wind down and just mess around with the game for a bit. It also makes me want to pose this question: If that was all in place, what class do you believe would have the most op build and what build do you think it would be?
My personal guess would be ranger with a build consisting of knight’s armor, zerk weps (lb/gs), zerk/valk trinkets, and defender runes. Using SoS, protect me, Signet of renewal, we heal as one, and strength of the pack.
Markmanship-
Enlargement, Brutish seals, and lead the wind
Skirmishing-
Primal reflexes, spotter, and most dangerous game
Wilderness Survival-
Oakheart Salve, shared anguish, and empathic bond
Nature Magic-
Bountiful hunter, evasive purity, and protective ward
Beast Mastery-
Resounding timbre, natural healing, and zephyr’s speed
Druid-
Druidic clarity, celestial shadow, and ancient seeds
Why do I think it’d be the best?
It has a relatively high armor level (2700) with extreme prot uptime and an additional 5% off when under burn, bleed, or poison and another 33% when above 90% health and a 6 sec damage immunity from SoS. It would do very well against conditions because of it’s ability to remove 4 every 10 seconds and all of them when it accesses CA. It possesses high burst from the longbow, greatsword, smokescale, and bristleback. It has high healing and sustain abilities from regen, CA, we heal as one, and defender runes. High disengage and mobility from gs 3 and celestial shadow. Also posseses permanent vigor, regen, swiftness, might, and fury yielding another 5% damage buff from bountiful hunter. If it starts losing a fight it has a “last gasp” mechanism in the form of enlargement (25% damage bonus and stability) and most dangerous game (5 might every second) when you drop below 50% hp.
