Cele rifle engi vs cele d/d ele
Depends on who hits with ccs I think

I’d imagine it would be virtually a stalemate against even skill levels. The amount of CC + condi hate + healing is pretty similar. Rifle engi has a bit of an edge in CC, but ele has more potential for disengage to reset the fight

I’m not coming back, not that you care.
If none of them decide to die, both of them can live forever.
On point, I think the Engi would win. Worst case scenario he will decap the point.

I dunno he would get decaps but engis got a better chance if he can keep him moving. If engis has to stay still without moving off point he’s going to stay on point he’s gonna eat more damage than the ele. Against each other you might want an engi since the fight will go long enough for it to get reinforcements and it has the better chance at getting a decap.

Ele is more easy mode
Whoever has the longest attention span, and whoever has crate
If the engi can’t kill the ele before he reaches ~22-25 might, the engi gets forced off point or dies to burning+lightning whip damage. Ele wins by far in the sustain fight, unless you’re on a huge point like mid on foefire, in which case you can kite for dayz. Meta engi just doesn’t compare to ele in terms of sustain and condi clears, so you have to force the ele to pop cooldowns and then land a big burst if you want to win, before you lose the sustain fight.
you can easily duel for 10+ mins in that matchup

Cele Ele can out pressure Engi over time because ele has more burning and more heals and more condition removal available, but if the engi gets his intelligence procs and CC chain when the ele is around half health he can take the fight.
Usually the 1v1 isn’t worth fighting on an enemy point unless you are planning on having a +1 arrive shortly. If you’re the engi though, it can be worth it if you can land your knockback or pull into slickshoes to get a decap. You need to force Armor of Earth and Lightning Flash though before you can expect to get the decap. Ele’s only decap option is updraft into earth immob/knockdown and that cooldown is 40 seconds, so it’s much less likely to be worth attempting the decap in that situation as the ele.

If the Engineer can bait out the 2 stunbreaks that they run and then smash in a good combo they could finish it, but if they fail to do that the first time around it’s a downwards fight for the Engineer due to the Ele sustain.

I think the fight boils down to three factors:
(1) Whether engie can interrupt ele’s mightstacking by CCing. A single overcharged shot when ele casts ring of fire will pretty much negate might stacking. And the two skills have the same CD.
(2) How good ele is at dodging prybar + chill grenades, especially if water attunement is on cooldown. If ele eats a prybar and chill while in water or just after leaving it, he’s probably going to lose the fight. Both skills are fairly telegraphed, though, and ele has vigor for plenty of dodges and one get-out-of-jail card with cleansing fire.
(3) Whether engie can catch ele w/ slick shoes while armor of earth is on cooldown.
Based on the above, I think the winner would depend on what level of skill we’re talking about here. If both players are just spamming skills off cooldown, then ele would probably win due to better sustain. At medium-high skill levels, engie probably comes out ahead due to playing around the ele’s reliance on water attunement for condi cleanse. At highest levels, I’m guessing ele has the slight advantage due to better vigor, which allows a good ele player to consistently dodge the important skills.
I am wondering who should win a duel between a celestial rifle/nade engineer versus celestial dagger/dagger elementalist if both players are of equal skill. I ask cause I was dueling with a guild mate with these two builds and it was a complete stalemate.
Engineer should win.
One spam to rule them all!

If engineer plays the range game he will win but if the ele is smart and realizes that the engineer wont be able to get on the point the ele can win or just avoid enough damage to drag it on for way to long
