Champion titles for elite specialisations?
Reaper will get Champion Beyblade for sure.

Those titels are a joke in every point. There is no way to call you a champion after winning 150 matches. There are ppl doing this in a week.

Of course. I also happen to know that the Dare Devil title will be Champion Shoe.

Some maybe. Others need a whole month to play the ~300 matches. If there is 1 new class and 9 elite specialisations it would be 10 months of effort for them.
I think its save to say after 150 wins you are not totally useless with that class anymore, so it is a good start.
I honestly dont think a thief is usefull after having played 300 matches. Oppinions can differ and thats ok.
I dislike the idea i can get every champion title. I mean, I got for example the engy title but i truely cant play this class in any good way.
They could add Legend titles for 500-1000 wins for a class if that is your worry
I suggested this a few months ago actually.
Champion Phantom → Legendary Reaper
Champion Legionnaire → Legendary Berserker
Champion Hunter → Legendary Druid
Champion Illusionist → Legendary Chronomancer
Champion Magus → Legendary Tempest
Champion Paragon → Legendary Dragonhunter
Champion Shadow → Legendary Dare Devil
Champion Genius → Legendary Scrapper
Champion: Phantom, Hunter, Legionnaire, Genius
WvW rank: Diamond Colonel | Maguuma
Now that they will have the league system, I aways thought it would be cool if they had class specific titles for the division you are in. For example, if you won x number of games in the legendary division with the reaper than you would get x title.

Champion Phantom -> Legendary Reaper
Champion Legionnaire -> Legendary Berserker
Champion Hunter -> Legendary Druid

Champion Magus -> Legendary Tempest
Champion Paragon -> Legendary Dragonhunter
Champion Shadow -> Legendary Dare Devil
Champion Genius -> Legendary Scrapper
Sounds good to me. Maybe it should require the Champion title completed + 500 wins with the elite specialisation for the legendary title?

Don’t forget champion moonman for druid.

Just…no. Let me break it down for you:
Factoring in Queue time and other delays, you can reasonably expect to play 2-4 games per hour.
But for argument’s sake, let’s just say you take zero breaks and are pumping out games at 4 per hour. Next, let’s assume you have zero losses and win every single game. 150 / 4 = 37.5 hours under the absolute best-case circumstances.
More realistically, having equal amounts of losses (which is more reasonable) can easily put the count over 80 hours.
Anyone playing 80 hours per week (or even 37.5 hours) needs serious help. This isn’t an e-sport where top prizes are on the order of millions of dollars per person (ex: Dota 2). You win maybe a few thousand per person for being GW2 world champion (and only 5 total people achieve this), which is not nearly worth the time lost.

+1 here, I am assuming they will have new titles and achievements to go after for each elite.

Agreed. Titles/achievements will almost never determine ones skill, only time played. I’ve fought plenty of people with their champion titles that have sucked. Hell, with three, Champion Phantom, Hunter and Legionnaire, I’m not that great. But it took a long time to get all three of those. 150 isn’t much I certainly think that’s true, but you’d be surprised how long it takes to win 150 matches. Especially considering how abysmal the average PUG can be.

Ok, there surely is a difference between working and non working players. But i will assure you, there are a lot playing more than 40 hours per week.

But its far from the norm. I would be suprised if the average player even plays 10h a week. If you are like me and play several hours a day you are probably part of the minority already.
I dont know which is the average, that might be quite low, also to the big amount of inactiv players.
Its an age old question for games, around what type of user do you plan. Sure, there are players that like this game, play only pve and will never reach lvl 80 (pvelevel), because they only play occasionly. There are those other players spending 10hours plus per day. I dont know which is the more important customer, i guess the second one.
Btw, i hate what this forum does to my name^^
I have around 900 games played 53% win and 0 of my professions have 150 wins.

I finished all Champion titles, but it took me several months of dedicating playtime to pvp
