Change glory boosters into rank boosters
Yes, this is a great idea. How has everyone else not been +1’n this in to reality?!?!?!
I love this idea…but just imagine the outrage of players who are now desperately trying to burn through these things since the devs told us they would be useless only to find out that you can actually use them for something better than earning glory.
I think the window of opportunity for ANet to do this has passed. The best thing they can do now is to calculate out an estimate of how much extra glory people who play for an hour would have gained if they were to use a booster (using a very conservative estimate) and then just change them to simply grant that much glory instead. This gives players who aren’t able to use up their boosters a decent consolidation without offering something more valuable than what these will currently give.
Agreed. Would be a good fix and a nice way to compensate the trash ranking-up system.
I’ve been burning the like mad and I still wouldn’t mind if they changed them into rank boosters instead of just poof 150 glory boosters disappear into thin air

Wait, you are suggesting changing a currency boosting buff into something that buffs a largely meaningless measure of how much spvp you play?
I agree its better than having them just be deleted, in that you get “something” back from them. However, I would MUCH rather they became “gold boosters” (for spvp) because that will be the new currency/spvp reward.
While they may add rank boosters, they won’t convert glory boosters.
Consider that glory boosters were so common, you could always have one active. In that sense, it may as well have been baked in to normal glory gains. If that had existed since the beginning, no one would be complaining.
You could argue that they took up a slot in which you would normally receive an item. That at least has some merit. But then they would only be worth the same as a low-end PvP crafting materials once the change goes in, which will probably be a few copper.

Well… they do also drop from black lion chests instead of other, more useful boosters so something needs to happen to them that doesn’t involve them disappearing.
