So I was a diamond player in S1, then I took 2 months off cus I had other stuff to do and now I came back this week to join S2 ranked season.

So the problem with joining a season late with high MMR is there are no high MMR players to play with.. and more notably, against. The result? take a look at my match history in the attachments from the last 3ish days. (the 500-400 match was the only match I played with a team to help my guild out, the rest was solo queue).

My suggestion to fix this needless timewaste and absolute cakewalk trough the divisions is to up the winstreak bonus the longer you keep it going or something like that. Because I cant even find the motivation to play when I already know its gonna be a landslide win.

Yeah I get that thats your go to opinion about this. But its not winning, its winning BY A LANDSLIDE, ALL THE TIME.

everyone is getting kitten games this season, just look at the forum topics, it is not constrained to high mmr players, I suck at pvp and I am getting these all the time (winning and losing side as well), the matchmaker is just utter garbage and creates greatly uneven teams in general

it is kind of funny tho.

on pt, w/ the streaks u should at least blow thru and get to some better matches relatively quickly, even if its not as fast as you’d like

This is also why I don’t play. Well a reason for it. 500-0 everyone is pretty dull. They should link rating to rank. And just make people play 20 placement games then get ranked. OP should be able to get diamond in about 20 games. It solves all the problems.

Moral of the story? Getting rid of MMR leaderboards killed this game. Hilarious this game gets worse the more development he does.

What’s not very smart about the matchmaking is that it will form a team around similar MMR’s and yet, match you against any MMR in the pip range. It’s not “Hey, this person is really good, let’s put him on team A.” Then, “this person is second best let’s balance it and put him on team B”. It’s let’s take all the good and put them here and the bad there and make them fight each other for lulz.

I am now 2 wins from Sapphire and still havn’t lost a match yet. I can’t bother playing beyond the 3 daily matches untill I can start the part IV achievements

Well that explains a lot. That basicly forces me to tank mmr to get “normal” matches or keep playing and hope Ruby or Diamond gets more challanging.

Get to diamond, then talk about winstreak. We all (players with higher MMR) had endless winstreaks until ruby/diamond.

Winstreak reward should be scrapped from the system.

It doesn’t reward skill at all, it just rewards the “luck of the draw”. It’s the most idiotic thing in this season.

16 wins in a row and counting is a bit beyond luck I think. Elsewise I ought to buy a lottery ticket.

Not sure if it’s a poor trolling attempt or just good ol’ plain confirmation bias.

I started ranked this week, as in from Amber… And I havn’t lost a match this season yet. I don’t realy get where youre going with the whole trolling and LLLWWW thing? All I do is win, and not close call wins, but landslide wins (have you even seen the screenshot in the first post?) I can upload an updated screenshot of my match history, but its more or less the same as the one already there..

The MatchMaker is ill-conceived this season. You either get stuck with players who know what they are doing, or those that don’t. There is nothing even or fair about the games. You’ll either win in games so easy you don’t have to participate, or loose no matter what you do.

Just throw 10 games in a row and see what happens. I think I’ve had about 4 good games whole season, in tier 6 diamond. ANet won’t fix it this season. You’ll have to wait till next season.

Edit: The only other option is to find 4 friends to queue with and remove the matchmaker from the equation.

Currently with high enough mmr (and OPs mmr will only keep climbing that way) you will be getting landslide wins up to and including diamond. From what i hear, this is starting to happen in legend too.

Whatever you think of those blowouts, don’t even try tanking MMR. The system will not give you balanced matches, but, instead, when you get low enough, you will end up on the other side of the equation (always being matched with 4 of the people you are currently steamrolling over, and matched agains teams you currently play in, or better).

That would not remove OP’s problem however, unless he intentionally teams up with average or worse players.
