So kind of an odd question about the way the game mechanics work….
Basically I’ve wondered for a long time: If you use a channeled damage skill (such as guardian whirling wrath) and you trigger an instant stat modification in the middle of the attack (such as virtue of justic when traited with at least 5 in virtues so you get 3 stacks of might), is that stat modification taken into account in the rest of the skill channel?
In other words, if I start whirling wrath and it hits 2 times and then receive a few stacks of might from myself or others, do the rest of the hits from whirling wrath take these into account? Or is the damage calculated at the triggering of the whirling wrath, making modifiers added after the start null and void for that attack.
I just know there are a lot of places where this would make a difference such as applying boons to yourself, or conditions such as vulnerability being applied to the enemy. If it doesn’t calculate the damage modifiers at each hit, then pulling a lot of the instant skills (Shouts on all classes, meditations on guard when traited for fury, etc.) shouldn’t be done in the middle of a burst, but rather right before as the difference can be huge.
everything is constantly adjusting to your power/condi damage, starting 100b and getting might or applying vuln half way through will still up the damage for the rest of the channel, same with applied conditions
