I think he is saying that if you decide go for a purely power based spec you need to have Power Precision and Ferocity for the maximum burst, but for a purely condi based spec you don’t need ferocity which ends up freeing up a slot for defensive stats. You might not even need precision on a lot of classes which gives you more leeway to play around with defensive stats without sacrificing too much.
condis ignore armor btw <_<

Just use condi cleanse and end this unnecessary discussion on conditions please. Or use a good calculating system on condi vs zerker to understand why the majority is playing zerker if he conditions are so op.
Here is a simple comparison between 2 auto attacks guardian scepter and necromancer scepter.
The guardian scepter scales 0.666 with power but we have to factor in defense and weapon strength and attack speed. The attack speed is o,8 , average scepter weapon strength is 1000 and a guardians base defense is 2271 resulting in a true scaling of 0,36657859973579920739762219286658 dps/power.
necromancer scepter has 3 second auto attack chain inflicting 10 ticks of bleed and 4 of poison all scaling 0.06 dps/tick resulting in a 0,28 dps/condition damage. While poison may bring utility to the auto attack, guardian scepter has a higher range.
Condi’s don’t need to do anything to land damage: outside of a few runes you still have to land skills to apply damage this counts for both power and conditions.
Power is better for burst damage. The only classes that can pressure hard with condis are necro, mesmer, sometimes ranger. Also, condition builds are typically less mobile and more easily kitable. They are strong in pvp since alot of the fight is competing for the points.

I think he’s being sarcastic at least I hope.

Necro really can’t pressure with condis unless facing a condi build anymore. Their application is just way too slow.

Almost like people would run Toughness, because Armor makes such difference in PvP >_>

Um.. is there a mechanic that completely destroys Power Damage the same way that Condi Cleanses negates Condition Damages? Or transfers your damage back to you like a Condi Transfers? Or a boon that Stops your condi damages like Resistance?
All the above and Condi classes are still effected by Blocks, Dodges, invulnerability, etc.
There’s a reason why Power builds are more “meta” than condition build in Tournament play. Condition builds are 3x as risky than Power.

protection, toughness, reflects~
there are actually relatively very few spells that do high dmg and you should be dodging them; condis on other hand are often easy to apply (via AA, persistent aoe etc.)
i wouldn’t say condis are OP, burning is too strong though and certain sigils srsly need to go or nerfed (cough doom)
condi builds are nowhere 3x risky than power lol
go play s/f zerker ele or thief and then try to play condi engi or necro~
reason why condi builds are not used as much atm (they used to be btw, engi+ necro stacking condis and then spreading it in team fights was nasty and popular tactics back then; also not to forget dhumfire and spirit ranger meta) is because of buffs to eles, engis, shoutbow and co. in past year and no change to that in this year (besides shoutbow)
also condis are more made for longer fights, where in high tier tourneys players can afford to run squishy builds (due to high skill level) and posses enough coordination to make max use of focused burst

There’s a reason why Zerker Ele’s isn’t a think in tournaments. The same reason why Zerker Engi, Warrior, Guardian, Necro, Ranger isn’t a thing.
Playing Condi against a comp with any type of condi cleanses. It is 3x more difficult than Power (marauders, cele, knights, etc. I wasn’t talking about Just zerkers…) considering they don’t have to worry about a shout cleansing guardian, Ele cleanses or necro condi transfers.
Condi Engi, Necro, Ranger, Thief are no where near the place that Power builds are in the meta.

Very cute english
As far as i know only guardian and ele have huge condi dps and that requires allies/stacks to stunlock u while they lay it down. Otherwise you can dodge roll out of guardians.
Burning needs to be doubled in duration and halved in damage, burn to bleed damage should be closer to 2:1, not 4:1. Bleeds also need a bit of their damage back.
The burn change would make it so you could actually cleanse them and not be forced to blow cleansed every time you have burns immediately, as burst conditions honestly defeat the purpose of conditions and removal.
Side note: I know it isn’t viable in tpvp, but one of the most brainless stupid builds in the game is PU condies. I picked it up in about 30 seconds and was destroying people who were long time players. Nothing fun about garbage like that even if it doesn’t work in tpvp due to stealth cap restrictions.
