You didn’t lose rating, and if you did you couldn’t confirm it anyway. You lost rank. People behind you gained more than you did. It’s a leaderboard, genius.
I played 6 matches in about 2 hours, all of which I won.
By doing so, I lost 200 ranking.
I did not play the game at all for the last week and a half due to me being on travels, and did not play the game since leader boards released earlier this week. My rank remained relatively stable (only moving down a few ranks, specifically 9 ranks) while I was inactive for 3 days.
Inactivity or +/-0 rating dropped my rank by 9 in 3 days.
Activity, specifically winning 6 matches me to drop rank by 200 in 2 hours.
If anything, this is pretty obviously a rating loss caused by winning matches. The other alternative would have been I gained near 0 points for winning 6 matches, while in those 2 hours, 200 players were able to overtake me in ranking… something they could not do for 3 whole days.

The ratings are volatile enough that if you went 104-1 against anyone you’d probably be higher than in the 600’s, several of the UC guys play off prime time hours and are all top 25.
I just played 6 matches today and won all of them.
But I lost rating and rank. Not a few jumps up or down, which is sort of understandable, but a loss of about 200 ranking.
I’m kind of baffled by what possibly could have caused this. Winning matches causing you to lose rank.
You aren’t the only 1 on the leaderboard. What did you expect?
The whole problem would solve itself, if matchmaking would work. Today I queued for 5 tpvp matches as a solo player and always got a match against a premade. Why should you even bother to play this match if its almost certain, that you will loose. After this 5 matches I will now always leave at the beginning if its against a premade. Total waste of time. But I guess they can’t or are not willing to solve this problem.
We’re working on a Leaderboard F.A.Q. that might answer some questions/concerns here. Keep an eye out!
Thanks for the feedback
Does the FAQ stop people from dodging a loss of rank by alt + f4’ing out of the match before they lose?
They still take a loss, as well as a rating hit.
then please explain all the 8v2 endings in hotjoints
hotjoins have nothing to do with leaderboards and such -.-
Reikou,
If you were matched against 6 teams of lower rank, your rating will not go up.
But the 200 people who rose in rank might have won against better teams, and that would raise their rank.
ALSO: if the actual rating were shown, you might find that most actual ratings differences might be tiny. Maybe the ratings go from 1 to 25000, and your rating went from 11500 to 11300.
And maybe the top people are in the 19800 range, but from rank 100 and below they suddenly are all around 14000… so, 11000 pts lower that the “top” premades.
