Someone sounds jelly. When I started theory crafting my power mm 11 or so months ago I was laughed at and was told I’d always be useless and it wouldn’t work. Boom now it’s apparently ez moad meta. :P More teaaaars! My minions thirst for them!

I am no pro, not even top tier, but I am a good player. One thing I notice at the level around me and above is that people tend to have their own builds, they dont use templates. The more you play, the more you realise that the most important part of any build is the person playing it, so how you play will influence your choices in builds.

Take for instance my thief, dagger and pistol is a really good set, and it does a lot of nice single target damage and has plenty of builds to muck about with. But for the life of me I cannot give up the sword main hand. Same with shortbow, every build I make uses the shortbow, its like my staple go to weapon. Its so good, I love it for so many reasons. As such, I tend to center my builds around that. Plus I am more of a sustain type player than a burster (just not my thing, each to their own).

Same with MM necro, I had a little bash and I didnt do that well with it, not as well as when I go pure condi necro (pretty much the same build I made about 9 months ago haha).

Most new players or those looking to get into PVP will look up builds and thats why they sometimes appear OP. You will fight lots of hambow warriors, and some will beat you (for numerous reasons), and because their are so many, it can appear they are over powered (I think they are a little, but not the godlike way people make them out to be, they do have weaknesses). I can drop a hambow pretty easy, but a hybrid, experianced warrior player is a whole other subject. Guy in my guild rocks out some hybrid build warrior action, we had 10 duels and he won 8. Once you really start to understand the class you will naturally start modifing builds and then just building your own.

Its one of the great things about PVP, if your build isnt working so well or your struggling a lot, try something else, its free and easy to test out. In fact half the fun is figure out ways to increase your combat/role effectiveness with small changes etc.
