Hello fellow gamers and developers.

Before I begin:
1. I know we don’t pay monthly fees, so I imagine you’re (the developers) currently working within a tight budget and maybe even without the full team already, and it takes longer to implement certain content, anyways, longer than what the community is used to in other games with said fees.
2. I’m assuming the December Content Update to be the Christmas event, and that would be a good window to tie up loose ends in regard to the base functionalities of s/tPvP (being 4 months after the game has released).

And so, my wishes:
1. Modes:
-Deathmatch is required, i’m thinking 2v2 or 3v3, to give opportunity for strategy as opposed to 5v5 chaotic aoe spam and such. 2 or 3 small arena maps wouldn’t hurt either.
-Dueling would be a nice feature, just create an entry when we right click on a player (for example, beneath the Invite to Party entry), and make it so the other player would have a pop up window, and accepting would cause both players to be enemies so that they could start fighting each other. This would make waiting in the mists much more enjoyable.
-Progressive Conquest Mode. This maybe hard to implement in such a small time. One team defends 2 points, and the other teams has a timer counting down when they try to capture those points. If they do, the timer is reset, and they move forward in the map, trying to cap another 2 points, and so on. Again, these would probably require too much work to be viable for Christmas. (but it would really spice things up in sPvP, espeacially if you choose to keep the 8v8).

2. Glory system:
-This is a no-brainer, make it so that the loosing teams doesn’t win 100% glory, and players will start to play the game strategically, instead of bandwagoning on the killtrain.

3. Disconnections in tPvP:
-Make it so that when a player disconnects from a tournament he won’t be able to log back for a while (15 min?). Or some kind of glory penalty (1hour?). I know all disconnections aren’t on purpose, but people need to respect the other players. Playing in tPvP outnumbered is no fun at all.

4. Class Mobility:
-If every class can play any role, mobility should be balanced. Mesmers’ Portals and Thiefs’ Infiltrator Arrow have too much power in tPvP. Give the other classes means to keep up, or introduce penalties for excessive mobility (if you go through a portal you’ll gain weakness/vulnerability for a while, everytime you use infiltrator arrow the same thing, make it so that these long distances moblity skills cannot be used imediatly before starting a fight without a meaningfull disadvantage).

5. Elite skills balance:
-You cannot give Mesmers a 10 second “stun/daze” while other classes only have slightly stronger utility skills in their Elite slot. Moa Bird is a win button. You give everyone one, or you don’t give it to anyone.

EDIT
6. Necromancer variety:
-This is more a personal wish. Add a 2 handed scythe weapon for the necro (and other classes you deem fit to) and make a vampiric build available for us guild wars 1 necro fans.

That’s it. I know most of these, if any, won’t make it past this thread, but i really do think some would improve the competitive scene a lot, without requiring class nerfing/buffing and huge gameplay changes. Just give us more tools to play around with, and make it more friendly to casual/lone players, and i’m pretty sure people will start ranting and raging in every forum about every single issue because they will be busy. Trust me, using IA before a fight is a serious disadvantage to the Thief. He’s down half his entire bar of Initiative (untraited) with one arrow.

Also, you can’t make all the classes equal in mobility/damage/whatever. If a Warrior has the same mobility and roaming capability as a Thief, why would anyone EVER bring a Thief? A warrior has 80% more HP, wears heavy armor, and can destroy glass cannons just like the Thief does. The “if he has it everyone should have it” argument doesn’t work.

On the other suggestions:
I agree with just about everything you said aside from the balancing. Duels, more maps, more modes, etc. In hotjoin I think you should still earn glory even if you lose. However, if you win you should earn 50% more glory, not some measly 20%.

All my friends and i want in this game is a way to play 2v2 / 3v3 deathmatches against opponents in a small arena/map. It would be amazing and soo fun to try out all the class combinations
