A.) That’s not a reason to allow it. B.) they’re not THAT hard… I’ve picked one up and did far better than I should both BWEs.

Any toon is easy to play in pve and relatively easy to play generally. What’s harder is to play it well.

Mesmer is a very active class that requires focus to play well. Being the Ranger advocate that you are, I’m not surprised to hear you asking for Mesmer nerfs. I also note that rangers have huge spike damage and CC. Nerf that longbow and pet.

I don’t advocate Rangers. The last thing I said about rangers was that Beastly Warden needed looked at lol. Not sure where you get this idea that I play Ranger. I play Mesmer more often in pvp than Ranger, Mesmer being my 3rd most played class in pvp. Mesmer might be sort of “active” but it’s still not that kitten hard to be super successful with.

Second; There is an odd fashion among certain Mesmer players to ask for nerfs and try to make the class underpowered. I suppose this stems from pride in those of us who suffered for years being underpowered and almost a guaranteed kill for a thief.

That fashion does the class a huge disservice

Lyssa knows, ANET needs no encouragement at all to nerf Mesmer. I realize that it’s fun to be an iconoclast and to call for nerfs to make the class harder , ( and thereby increase the prestige of winning as a Mesmer ), but it’s really not appropriate.

-edit- There also seems to be a group that believes in asking for nerfs as a defensive measure. They fear that if we should ever start doing well, we’ll be nerfed into the ground.

It’s not about nerfing the mesmer, it’s about taking Chronomancer and make something interesting.

When I play Chronomancer, it plays exactly like a Mesmer and it is definitely the most underdeveloped elite class. Why don’t F1-F4 skills change? Every class has their mechanics altered, Chronomancer just gets more.

Mesmers are a faceroll class, even before the PU buff. I made 3 of them. They are the most forgiving class in terms of making mistakes coupled with high damage spikes from stealth.

It is possible to down other classes without ever leaving stealth. Not even a thief can do that, and they are meant to “excel” at 1v1 and stealth.

I mostly play for the new Free-For-All arena in PvP lobby.
….. And Elementalist.

Still way too much access to slow. Continuum split is still way too good for everything. Clones respawning was a ridiculous idea. Wells have extremely low cds for what they can provide. Overall class just has way too much going for it and zero repercussions.

Well, ppl seem to have a lot of problems using the new skills. Had a lot of opponents yesterday that summond a lot of stuff but totally forgot about timing and positioning, which is imo more important in small accounters. I am really interested how this will work out after ppl had time to learn it. I think, it might get a bit overpowered.

Yesterday I had a funny moment when a mesmer moad me twice ina row XD

It actually helps a lot. Wells do provide the extra AOE, shield provides survivability and AOE quickness/stun, the slow is a good defensive utility etc…
The problem is the clone generation and F5 increases the dueling mesmer abilities even more… or may I say too much…
