STOP it ANET. Just kittening STOP IT!!! No class stacking in tournaments right? ELIMINATE IT FROM MATCHMAKING for ranked matches. VS 3+ necro’s on a team is not balanced nor fun, for either side. 3+ Dragon Hunters on a team is neither balanced nor fun. Nor Engi’s nor theifs nor rangers nor eles nor revs nor mesmers nor warriors. Just cut it out of you match making!!!!!!!!!!

I’m gdam mad. Just spent the afternoon playing pvp matches ag. 1-2 necros per match. I work my way thru to a division change and I go up against 4 gkitten ecros with minion masters. U do the gdam math. You know the necro is overpowered this season. There has been enuf noise on the forums about it and then u let them group up. Downright horrible. Sorry to complain but this really deserves it.

I’m currently doing the “10 wins with X class” from leg backpack Part IV using the arguably weakest class in the season (Warrior) with a semi-joke build (rifle/greatsword) and can only say:

Man, those Necros falls like flies!

I agree with OP. Stop class stacking! I did my first stream one of these days and at the end of the stream i realized how unbalanced it is to have class stacking in this game. Either i lose against teams of 2 eles + whatever or 2 necros and 2 revs and so on, this makes no sense! Where in the world can this game become an e-sport if the ranked games are not a way of training you to later tournaments?!

There is no risk/reward involved in class choices in pvp, its instead a yolo like system that lets same classes stack up in whatever ways you wish! Its broken and it has to stop! Here i thought of streaming this great game that it is Guild Wars 2 when this system makes no sense or is enjoyable to see!

Class balance would be much easier if classes were capped to 1 per team!

I’m a diamond player that lost 3 times the tier 5 this week to pathetic class stacking teams.
But let’s face it, what is going to happen is me or anyone who says “class stacking needs to end” being called either a stupid player, noob, lack of experience and whatnots as it usually is. Why? Because this is always the same excuse to cover a broken system in this game.

As far as raw data i will not defend myself in any way shape or form because Anet has my accounts data. And yes i have stopped streaming until this game has a healthy pvp scene.

or here is an idea…. maybe ANET should release some balance updates. If necro wasn’t so OP, stacking wouldn’t be as much of a problem.

Class stacking shows real problem with balance and should stay. You see 2-3+ of some class in matches, constantly? Then there is OBVIOUS problem with that class being too good for some reason and must be toned down, plain and simple.

Class stacking should be removed, it kills variety and promotes brain dead gameplay (aka Necros + Eles combo), I can’t believe people still don’t agree with this just because it’s not the main issue for them.

profession stacking isn’t the problem. Balance is. All players want to win, so they naturally gravitate to professions that have more of the tools that they need to do so. Currently some elite lines are simply better than others. This is why you see the same professions (all running elites) far more represented than others.

If the professions were more tightly balanced to similar to each other, and it was only their play styles that set them apart, then you’d see a lot more diversity.

Also, it can’t be stressed enough that each profession has to have a ‘fun’ factor. I duel main warrior and necro. I have done so from the start of the game. I have 8 of the 9 professions open to me, and each with hundreds of games..but necro/warrior dominates my stats. Currently I play scrapper. I am not in love with the profession, but warrior offers nothing to team situations and necro has been made completely child’s play to master, so scrapper it is for me.

The sad thing truly is that when you play 8 out 9 profession regularly you know that the top 4 dominant professions (scrapper/reaper/herald/tempest) All have a hard counter to them that is just lacking the teeth to get the job done. An old school hammer warrior would make should work of a scrapper/reaper..but today it is so under powered by comparison after all its nerfs its tools aren’t enough without having the damage numbers to match. The same can be said that the old school shout builds in warrior and/or guardian could effectively nullify a murder of necro’s..if only they had the abilities they use to. Thief could eliminate necro, if only it could survive the Aoe/cleave damage in team situations….the old D/D cele ele could stale mate a herald..etc etc

That is where the real problem lays. Elites have been overtuned. Core professions diluted too much. No real inter-profession balance…no specific play styles…

As a result this is the symptom of the problem..people will choose the go to meta professions because if they don’t, they just aren’t being as competitive.

Thieves ask for sustain, got stronger auto attacks.
Warriors ask for clunky adrenaline fix and actual burst..they got stronger heals and rifle.
Guardians ask for redesign of out dated traits..got traps..
Mesmer ask for actual builds..got nerfs..

What each profession needs is not being addressed in a long term way and instead everyone is being various degrees of everything making the profession pool fairly murky. So people choose what is the strongest and most clear cut of professions, which is invariably each professions elite line. As stated some elites are just better than others..that simple.
