If you have experience climbing out of the percentages level, did you do it with a powerful class like a necro or spirit ranger, or did you do it as a bunker?
I was watching and it seems to me that bunkering with people who don’t yet know how to play strategically may not be the best choice.
It seems you help them more, you have to kill opponents fast, or keep them really busy in long 1 × 3 skirmishes so your weaker teammates can go take some points. Maybe a bunker could do this, I guess. But it seems Symbolics switched to Spirit Ranger. UberKK changed from necro to Spirit Ranger and he climbed some, though not from the percentages. And there must be a reason they chose Spirit Ranger.
If you have experience with this, I’d enjoy hearing what you think.

That’s correct. The simplest, best thing you can do at low rank is carry with strong aoe dps.
I think spirit ranger is an exception because it’s strong all around. Good 1v1, decent dps, good teamfight utility, doesn’t rely on other players.

Aside from Spirit Ranger, what’s currently very high AOE DPS? Necro epidemic bombing?
pretty much yeah… bad teams can’t capitalize on CC, bad teams won’t support a bunker when he needs it/leave him there when he doesn’t need it, bad teams will die with our without boons.
Play something independent that can kill things before your idiot teammates die. Honestly though the lack of player base means that low MMR regularly faces high MMR while high MMR is more likely to be put together, without more people it will not be possible to ‘climb out’ anytime soon.
You could also try hgh engi, good aoe dps. It is also good if you make immortal bunker (i used engi) to cap far point and watch 2-3 or more enemies trying to kill you there while your ally cap other points, but it varies on different maps.

In a sense, when a Spirit Ranger is buffing the team in a teamfight from the spirits, all team members attacks can apply conditions, so in a way, the teammates are your “AOE DPS”.

Actually, I think the best thing to play in a low MMR setting, assuming you can play it well, is d/p thief burst. Low rated players don’t know how to properly deal with thieves, and you can roam all over the map getting ganks, decaps, and npc kills. I think, on the whole, playing thief well will result in the most point differential when it comes to carrying a bad team vs another bad team.
Play good profession that’s good in teamfights and 1v1 like spirit ranger. Or play a good node assault build were youll never die 1v1 (or take long time to die and 1v2, 1v3) like a bunker engy specced for knockbacks and condi removal and just keep assaulting the far node and stalling there team there by neuting and capping the node in 1v1 fights and trying to do so but difficult in 1vx fights.
I’d play the spirit ranger though, because some idiots don’t understand what your doing and go and assault the node with your even though you deal hardly any damage at all and will lose every team fight because all you can do is take damage.
I notice that low MMR-fights have a lot of hotjoin-type playing. Lower level players may tend to zerg and swarm. They tend to go for farpoint and get killed by the respawning enemies. They don’t tend to defend points . They may play the glass cannons they had success with in hotjoin.

Thieves are the best class to carry an entire team, assualt far point and the players are so bad you can legitmately do a 2 v 1 if played well.
