Is Achivements for Caliseum and Capricorn available indefinitely?
I mean.
I was about to finish Capricorn achivements, but now everyone pick Coliseum. That drasticaly reduce all my chances to play Capricorn.

+1 if they remove these achievements or block them because some of us haven’t had the time to play this league season, I’m gonna be very mad.

The overlap is fluffy and unthinking.

you should just have some type of beta flags, like the stronghold and conquest ones, so players can queue ONLY for the beta map they want to play

There is NO indication ingame and for time limited achievements i think there should be

I think it says you need to get them by October 3rd, but still, that’s 2 weeks and you can do it in that time… ofc, we need the map to be possible to be selected.

Rule one of Guild Wars 2, do achievements as quick as possible, you never know when they will be taken away. Glad I got on the Capricorn achievements quickly.

And already we have jerks picking against the new map..

Knew they were limited but some WARNING of a new Beta map pretty much literally stopping you selecting capri making its appearance random and few people selecting it would have been nice.
Should not have been made available until end of season or at very least had an option to exclude it from queue.

Can you guys stop with the time limited achievements? They’re not fun for anyone that can’t play all the time.

I double checked and Capricorn should appear even though it is no longer pinned in unranked.

Pin both, in unranked people mostly play these two maps the next 6 weeks so its only natural both are always possible to vote on in addition to two core maps.

Otherwise you’ll have lots of people never managing to get Capricorn; see all the posts about this map not showing up even once during play tonight… and then you even have to manage to get enough votes AND get lucky. It’s as if you don’t want people to complete the achievements the two, final weeks.

No kidding, I was going to work on them after the season ended since that made the most sense to me, apparently I should’ve been spending my time this season playing unranked instead of ranked -_-

So Capricorn shows up 1 out of five times and you have a 1 in 10 chance of it getting picked.

So you only have to queue 50 times to get into a Capricorn game.

THATS REASONABLE!

If you somehow still don’t have the Capricorn achieve:

Just team up with 4 others who need it too. That’ll give you at least a 50% chance at getting Capricorn every time it’s selectable. Should be able to get it this way in 2wks, even if you’re starting today.

And if you don’t manage to get it, just remember: It’s nothing more than another pointless title that you’ll forget about in a week or two, anyway.

I knew from the get go that the capricorn achievements were temporary but since you said it will be available only until season 4 ends, I am annoyed that you decided to add the colloseum achievements in conjunction with the capricorn achievements. You may as well have said that the capricorn achieves end yesterday because they’ve effectively become improbable to have matches on it with colloseum overshadowing it. It’s just injury to insult at this point.

So now you’ve added a layer of RNG on top of the RNG to get the map for a limited time title in the final weeks where many players will be desperately rushing to complete it before their chance runs out forever? I hope you can see how frustrating this is going to be for a lot of people.

It’s a limited time title and many players were told we had until the end of Season 3 to obtain it. This is technically still true but now it has become much harder for us to even access the only map we can be on that will progress our achievement or title. It feels like I’ve had the rug pulled out from underneath me as the circumstances surrounding access to the map have dramatically changed.

We already had people AFKing when they didn’t get the map when it was pinned in every roll, it’s going to be much worse now.

Please either put it back as a guarantee pin for everyone who still need to finish their final steps of the title now, or even better – allow us to queue specifically for the map and nothing else like we can do for stronghold. If you insist on sticking with limited time, map specific titles we need a way to guarantee access to the maps to work on them.

Indeed, while I appreciate new PvP maps, I never though Eternal Coliseum would debut until they took Capricorn out on October 3rd… they could’ve easily held that one back for 2 weeks to let the Capricorn achievements be concluded in due time… now they have a situation where it’s impossible to manage any Capricorn achievements.

And yes, impossible, because even after 6 matches (e.g. 24 maps on display in map voting), Capricorn has not featured once.

Please pin Capricorn ASAP so that people can do that map now at end of Sept, and then we’ll be happy to play test Eternal Coliseum again come start of October.

That’s pretty much what annoys me as well.

We’ve been aware for a while that we only have a limited time to do the achievements. It’s annoying for people who’ve been busy and unable to play for some of that time, and it’s infuriating that you’re pretty much relying on the luck of the spin even to have the opportunity to work on the achievements (really, the achievements should either be unlimited in time or you should be able to have the option of opting out of playing other maps while you’re working on them) but at least we knew in advance that was the case and could plan around it. Weren’t able to play so much in the early weeks? That’s okay, you can plan to put in a bit of extra time towards the end to make up for it. Or so we thought.

Except now you’ve taken that away. Coliseum wasn’t even hinted at that I saw until a couple of weeks ago, and if there was any clear indication before the patch landed that Capricorn was going to be unpegged before Oct. 3, I certainly didn’t see it (some people predicted that a new map might change the pegging, and it was certainly predicted that a new map might alter the voting spread, but one could easily hope that sanity would prevail and Capricorn would still receive preferential treatment for as long as the limited-term achievements remained). Said unpegging now means that anyone trying to finish the achievements (I’m three wins short…) is likely to have to go through about twice* as many matches that don’t contribute to the achievement for each one that does, putting a major wrench in the plans of anyone who was planning to finish it off.

At the very least, Capricorn needs to go back to being pegged until October 3rd. Drop one of the random maps from the possible rotation if you have to in order to make room. Better yet, implement a temporary option that allows people to select that they want to play Capricorn and only Capricorn until the achievements close.

Even better, just scrap the idea of temporary achievements on PvP maps altogether and make them permanent, so people can relax and just get it when they get it rather than having to race the calendar.

This isn’t just an issue for the people who want to finish off the achievements. I haven’t done it myself, but I’ve seen people before the patch who really want to play Capricorn throwing matches on other maps in the hope that they can get back to a Capricorn map faster. Giving people the tools to just get it done already – or taking the pressure off and removing the time limit – should stop or at least reduce that behaviour.

*With 7 maps in the rotation, there’s roughly a 43% chance of any given map being an option in the vote. So simply depegging it reduces the chance of getting Capricorn by more than half, without considering the effect of changed voting patterns… or the possibility of a bug whereby it may not be coming up at all.

Should be pinned till the achievements time out. It’s already bad enough even without it that you dropped a new map (and a new set of timed achievements) before the season end. You’ve basically cut short the time for Capricorn achievements by 2 weeks without prior notice.

Could you please just rotate Capricorn into regular ranked rotation. What’s with taking decent, fun maps out while forcing players to keep playing the same ‘ol & boring maps? I don’t understand the logic. 80%+ of my ranked play are done in legacy of the foefire & forest, they grew stale a year ago. The new maps like capricorn and now coliseum are the only reason I’m even playing pvp these days.

You want pvp to grow, don’t take good maps like Capricorn away. Let people have their way at working achievements & enjoying good maps.

Just pin it again for unranked, yes, there will be contention between the 2 pinned maps, but then you can team up and at least you should have 5 people voting for it.
When you’ve got two fun new beta maps in unranked, you don’t need more than 2 of the old core ones, NO ONE really wants to play those until end of PvP season 5 when both beta maps are gone again.

And if they do, it’s only to troll those wanting to play the new maps because if they really wanted to play the old, core maps they could simply queue for ranked.

Played 2 hours of PVP (8 games). Saw only Capricorn 1 time in the rotation, and of course was not selected.
I have no time to spend 24h/24h to play Capricorn until the end of the season.

I played over 10 games… Capricorn showed only once and it wasn’t even chosen. I need only 2 more wins and it seems nearly impossible now

Temporary achievements is stupid idea. i really thought (and im sure, im not alone) that it was gonna be here forever so i wasnt in hurry doing those achievements…now i know its temporary and i cant get into capricorn at all cuz you simply cant chose it and when you finally can, most ppl are chosing coliseum…
So basically you gave us temporary achievements which we even cannot make….
Please rather dont give us any achievements than temporary ones…thank you

The capricorn Achievements should last until the Start of Season 5 and not only until the End of Season 4

Because that time in between the season is when people actually can play unranked a lot

I really agree that these maps need separate queues and Capricorn achievements need to last through the off-season. It is downright confusing to me that you’d have limited time achievements on a beta unranked map alongside the ranked season. Why can’t we focus on one, then the other? I like playing a LITTLE PvP and getting the achievements that I can. I don’t want to be at it for hours every kitten day, especially when I have the (much more fun) PvE story and maps coming out to do.

I’m okay with spending time on PvP achievements that take a while to do, but two things really bring the whole experience down and turn it from fun and engaging to frustrating as heck – if you land on the wrong map, you instantly don’t want to play it. You might as well sit it out. There’s no point. Don’t give us achievements and then put it behind a random chance 10 minute waste of your life to even start attempting them. This will be even worse now, with the baffling decision to have two beta maps w/ achievements going at the same time, and unpin the first one??? Well sucks to us who thought we had a couple more weeks to finish them.

And the second thing is just a real annoyance I’m lumping in while I’m here – why do we have to win 25 games for AP completion, when it’s nowhere near in line with some of the other tasks? By the time you get 25 wins, which could mean playing the map 50 times or more depending on who you get saddled with, you’ll have blown past the other categories and then some.

Why bother putting in an achievement for bell ringing etc when you might as well just roll that AP into the 25 wins, the only thing that bears focusing on? You’ll get the others on the way without having to try. The balance just seems totally skewed. You could bump up the number of bell rings, decaps, and everything else required for the achievements and that would actually feel better, more in line with 25 wins, because then you’re not hyperfocused on that ONE thing, with nothing else to do but try to win over and over and over, with no sense of sportsmanship because you NEED the win. My preference would be having it at maybe 10 wins, and increasing all the other categories, because I Can Do Those Myself. I can join a game, play my best get decaps, defeat other players, and I’m still making progress, and if we lose, well gg no matter. Handshakes all around. But with the win requirement far outclassing every other category, I feel frustrated and bitter when I lose, because winning is all that mattered to me, and I hate doing these matches with that mentality.
