With the upcoming UGO tournament, I can’t decide which way to go. I played 800 ranked matches this past season alternating between power/condi. I found condi to bring me the most consistent success in solo/duo Q.

Now that I will have a full team who I can rely on, I wonder if I should reconsider my build. If you were to take both builds, played optimally, which would be of most benefit for a team? Or is it best to have both ready, and switch between condi and power based on the enemy comp?

Obviously something to work out with my team as we prepare, but I’d like some other feedback also.

Thoughts?

Depends on the rest of ur team setup and the enemy setup, but generally I would prefer power necro. It is very useful in teamfights with its great cleave.

If you want raw damage – which is the necro’s primary role – condi is definitely the way to go. If you have competent supports, you might even want to drop Soul Reaping and go full beast mode with a Spite/Curses/Reaper setup.

Condi has always been better damage imo (speaking overall/aoe-wise). Power is just so popular atm, because the spec itself just requires much less support and works even in subpar setups.

I think bikels is right, condi if good support. you might consider flesh wurm if they don’t have a thief.

When the season will start, Power reaper. Actually is the best build because is viable in more situations than the condition build. If you have support and you’re shure to not be dead in 4 seconds, the condition build can be better for your team.

Talking about damage… The necromancer inflict medium (or eventually low) damage, his condi combo is easy to avoid and need 4 seconds to land. The direct damage is faster (still if slow) because use the Axe channel skill and eventually the GS (but only for fun).

If you play with friends in unranked you can go condi and be good, if you do ranked alone go power.
Anyway, “Competitive” and “Necromancer” in the actual meta totally don’t match.
