I’m really not happy with this.

Courtyard is the only true pvp map in the game, there are no other mechanics, no pve bosses involved. It is literally only a fight to the death between players. I cannot fathom why Courtyard would be removed – It is a good map and it deserves to have its place in the unranked rotation. It forces communication, coordination and strategy to a level that other unranked game modes are no where near.

i would like more of these maps with a different design they really needed one with no places to hide like obsidian sanctum but because of qq they needed their own queue

The only reason I queued for unranked before expac is so I could get a chance to play CY and SH.

Sometimes I may not feel like playing courtyard but I still enjoy it none the less. I would much rather have MORE courtyard style maps and less PVE maps like Stronghold. Really sad about this map being gone.

I really liked courtyard as well, sure you could have some bad games, but I also had the best games there as well.

I really don’t understand why Skyhammer was forced down our necks despite a huge and protracted outcry by the community but courtyard was so lightly discarded.

Courtyard needed to be removed because it is an entirely different game mode that people aren’t built for and for some reason we still don’t have saved build templates. Spirit watch needs to be removed for the same reason. Skyhammer is annoying but it’s still conquest so it can remain.

They either need to create a separate queue for deathmatch (and create a few new maps) or give us a way to quickly load saved builds.

That game mode IS the game mode if ANET wants casual to be in the game. Courtyard is the equivalent of ARAM from LoL

Now if only courtyard was a separate que from stronghold/conquest.. oh wait ANET isn’t smart enough to do anything.

This map should be just moved into a separate category like conquest or stronghold and we would be fine. But that’s just too hard for arena net to do I guess :’(

Spirit Watch is conquest as for CY if you know your build to change to you have time to change it. And the fact is it was only unranked not ranked so games are essentially meaningless.

Spirit watch is a terrible conquest/capture the flag hybrid. If they removed the orb and put a 4th large node in its place it would become conquest (and a much more interesting map).

Ranked is only for tournaments now. Different pvp modes need different queues, or we need to be able to load build templates. Both of these would be a huge improvement for pvp, I’m not sure why you would argue against them.

Courtyard should be back as soon as they can add a filter for queuing in Team Deathmatch matches, like the filters for Stronghold and Conquest.

What we could not have was a Team Deathmatch game in the Conquest map pool.

That didn’t make any sense at all.

PAY—ONCE—UNLOCKS—ARE—ALWAYS—BETTER.
No exceptions!

I am quite happy with this map being removed. It was a horribly designed map forcing people into tight spaces where whoever spammed the most AOE won. Ultimately the map just snowballed from there and it would virtually always be a blowout after that.

I like the idea of team DM, but it needs a more open map.

Why would you want any map removed? It can be voted on….EVERY map should be votable, including capricorn. I see no reason why you would remove content if it is votable so people who wish to play it can. It makes NO SENSE.

Absolutely. I am in favor of more team DM maps. But this one is pure trash. Why can’t we have an interesting layout in a TDM map?

Just off the top of my head, imagine a TDM map with Temple of the Silent Storm mechanics. Some buffs would randomly appear in different parts of the map. Thus there would be goals which would move the fight around rather than have it cluster in the same area. I mean, the sky is the limit. Courtyard was basically the most simple possible TDM map implementation.
