Concern about stronghold
Agreed, the match was actually fun to watch and it felt like the timer cut the game short.
In general, I think stronghold is going to suffer if Anet tries to stuff it in Conquest’s box, increase the timer and give it a separate queue.

The Heroes probably need to get buffed as the time of the match goes on. People were slaying them on bunker builds. Since you rely on them to push the door down when your other NPCs aren’t cutting it, they need to be stronger.
Timers suck in conquest and everywhere else. It’s completely anticlimax. Please find a solution to this.

I wouldn’t jump to that conclusion yet. There was hardly any supply being used, which is key to winning the game via a lord kill.
It was pretty boring to watch though. Oh boy, this team is killing NPCs. Now this team is summoning an NPC. Let’s watch the other team kill it!
The lack of comeback potential did concern me, increasing the timer could help there, make it a bit more attritional rather than one team snowballing the other, or sitting on a points lead.

Removing the timer and increasing the respawns on late game would actually raise the comeback potential.
e.g if you are forced to deffend but you manage to wipe the entire enemy team you can rush their lord right away. But if there is a timer, the deffending team is going to lose eitherway.

GW2’s combat is balanced around 5v5s. This (really small) map also has tons of NPCs, anything above 5v5 would be chaotic and unplayable IMO.

A little chaos isn’t such a bad thing. And yes you’re right it based around the idiotic idea that is should be 5v5 and should shun variability.
Lower hp for doors could also make it flow faster, which they can easily adjust.

agreed. take out timer, it’s completely unnecessary. SH is meant to be a longer, more strategic game with lost of opportunity for turnarounds.
I don’t know about having no timer, but I agree that match was definitely cut too short. It was like it ended right at the start of the climax. I like the idea of adding time for some action. Or something like as long as lord is in combat the game wont end.
Either make the game timer longer, or buff Heroes + make summoning Heroes shorter.
