As a Necromancer, my primary tools are boon converts and widespread conditions. Now, I just got through a match against an Elementalist, and Guardian, that were essentially immune to all forms of condition. They stacked boons far faster than I could remove them.

Any reason why this is possible? I wouldn’t mind some developer insight as to why they made DoTs a primary source of damage and then gave everyone condition removal until they’re drowning in it.

Stealth Thieves are immune to conditions.

Guardians can be immune to conditions

Engineers can easily be immune to conditions and boon stripping.

Elementalists are immune to everything except 5 players hitting them repeatedly with everything they have.

Devs have stated they’re planning to add more “Boonhate” to counter just such issues. For now i’ve fell in love with boonstripping on my sword… Just gotta wheather the storm

Not just the boonhate, it’s the fact that some of them are absurdly IMMUNE to my conditions. Simply because I have to rely on large quantities of single stacks, because I’m not diverse, they just remove 16-20 stacks of bleed like it’s nothing, CONSTANTLY.

Elementalist condition removal is certainly a bit over the top. Meditation Guardian has strong condition removal, but isn’t nearly as bad as Ele. But lol you’re complaining about Thieves’ condition removal? Maybe on the really gimmicky sustain builds that don’t have any place in the meta at the moment…

However, you do have a good point regarding the fact that most classes only have condition builds that rely on a tiny subset of conditions that get cleansed way too easily. HGH engy are so strong right now precisely because they can very efficiently stack every damaging condition in the game on top of the might stacking.

Every class should have this kind of access to at least the 4 major damaging conditions in my opinion.

To my understanding, here’s a list of conditions that certain classes lack, and would need in order to have condition builds even approaching HGH’s effectiveness. Feel free to correct this list if you see anything in error.

Ele – Poison, Confusion
Guard – Bleed, Poison, Confusion
Warr – Poison, Confusion
Necro – Burn, Confusion
Thief – Burn, Confusion
Mesmer – Poison
Ranger – Confusion
