Guild Wars 2

Is it me or are there 2 types of knock downs? Ones that if your character does a flip through the air will keep him knocked down for what feels like an eternity and the other where they get knocked down on their back they get up from relatively quickly. Someone please explain it to me.

I noticed this when dueling my friend for the past 2-3 hours his engineer with all his CC and super knockdowns is unbelievably hard to beat as a d/d elementalist (i was only able to win if i played absolutely flawlessly and he didn’t drop his elite) and probably impossible as a warrior, guardian and perhaps thief.

Seems like you are thinking of knockdown and blowout they are both different. One flops you around (blowout) the other knocks you down. Then there is also a pushback, it throws you backwards or in a direction away from the person that used it.
