Returning player for HoT, and I’ve been trying the new specs and trying to learn the ‘ebb and flow’ of the current pvp scene. Calling for nerfs and buffs aside, is there counter play for a lot of new mechanics?

There is a ton of AoE in the game, is there anything that nullifies or creates a ‘safe zone’ so I don’t get shredded by mindless AoE?

There is a ton of boons being thrown around, is there any reliable way to strip or nullify heavy boon stacking? (Stacking in parallel, i.e. you have 4+ boons thanks to your skill rotation)

It feels like the top dog right now is anyone who can gain/share a lot of boons and do a lot of cleave or AoE

You can counter boon stacking with Necros loads of boon corruption.

Boon stacking, the only real counter is Necros (although Mallyx Revenants can actually do pretty well here too). No “anti AoE” skill, really, outside of “Stand Your Ground!”

Most of the new skills have appropriate counterplay, however.
