I wanted to theory-craft on PvP strategy. Would blind skills be enough to counter melee character? Many people saying Thief and Warrior is OP, but if they can’t hit you, then wouldn’t that make them weak?

play reaper, druid, rev or scrapper. If you can’t beat at least warrior, your personal skill is problem over your build.

This. If there’s anyone that thinks warriors are overpowered in the current meta, they need to get their eyes checked because they were just killed by a Reaper or Scrapper.

Warriors aren’t underpowered, just gimmicky. They don’t have any way to be in a sustainable fight, but opening properly means a Warrior can make it work.

I do wonder where the “blind can be cleared by condi clear” comes from – it can’t be cleared.

Blind clears for free on transfers. Idk on Generosity, but all necro transfers clear blind for free (so basically transfers are blind immune).

So, that means if Necros transfer conditions the blind is gone. Does the transfer count as an attack? Seems as if this a special case. And I think if you’ve got Sigil of Generosity equipped your attack will still miss, thus the sigil has no chance to proc anyway.

I do think its rather odd and I agree. Not sure how to test blind one short of Thief venoms and blackpowder in spvp environ.

You can apply poison with the powder shot and light damage, which means you won’t kill the test subject.

I capped ~15k camps, 10k of it solo – I have never been able to remove the blind.

Probably because you’ve been standing in the pulsing blind field the scouts drop. It’s invisible, but acts like the black powder smoke field.

Blind is a completely normal condition… and can be cleansed like any of them.
I don´t get it that there is even a discussion about that.
I remember you (Jana) seems to like playing with SA, where it is another story, because Shadow Embrace only clears specific conditions. Thing is, except non-Hot-players, no one plays with SA currently. Trickster and Escapist absolution can both clear any condition including blind.

Btw have they fixed the bug with the scout-black powder-fields? They acted like the ore-nerfed one (higher blind uptime). I´m not playing much WvW anymore, so I don´t know. The thief-NPC in Hotm still has the pre-nerfed-version.

I was indeed wrong, for whatever reason – I taunted scouts yesterday and wasn’t able to get the blind off with withdraw (trickster traited so one unspecified condition will be removed) but I didn’t get it off. Tried it just now again and I was able to remove it. So no idea what went wrong yesterday. But yes, these scouts are really annoying – and the fields sometimes hard to see – maybe I did stand in a field yesterday.

if I recall correctly, blind can’t be transfer by necro skills. You’ll simply miss and clear blind via missing, while the rest of the conditions linger on you.

Afaik The skills will not miss as long as blind is transferred. Having too many conditions and blind will fail usually but having very few and blind will work.
