Keep Calm and PVP Hard.
I am looking at this from a mutual point of view. In my own opinion, Countless does sims bit to harsh on BLU. BLU can’t help the way he is, we are all individual and different. He may sims to talk a lot of BS but he is someone that actually steps up and try to make the game enjoyable for some people to watch.
On to another point, GW2 pvp only has one Game mode so far, and there isn’t much to shout cast to be fair. Therefore …….
To Anet
It has been almost a Year Now and all of us in the community is getting bored and tired of this game mode. We are all losing patients, many of my friends have quit the game. I have less and less people to play with in Team Arena and is almost impossible to start a New Fresh team.
Solo Queue – Lists of negatives is too long so i am not gona go there.
I am just gona sums up with
I AM TIRED OF THIS GAME MODE AND I BELIEVE MOST PEOPLE ARE,
Which in turn impatient players such as countless have re-direct his hatred of this game onto another person. Which then BLU might actually take it too personal and quit shout casting for GW2 pvp. Thus, this chain effect will keep on occurring.
I really hope the Staff in Anet can soon release a decent new type of game modes which hopefully in return will be bring back most people to the pvp community.
P.S i thought is all about the community, if only the Anet Staff actually come to HOTM and play some pvp along with the pvp community I assure you guys will know what the situation is like at the moment.
We are all just getting sick and tired of this game thus turning all hatred at each other and making each other quit the game.
Sigh. . .

Rizla.
The “hardness” on the aforementioned players is very justified. Take the following explanation literally or…metaphorically (in which case, this post becomes a lolfest, which I think is pretty amazing how it turned out).
People feel that they can be “hard” on one another because it’s the internet, and over the internet people feel incredibly deindividuated (look it up if you don’t know what that means). Thus, people believe that they can be really “hard” on one another and be free from normal societal consequences. It’s not so much a belief either…it’s the truth and many, many people take advantage of that. You usually don’t go up to random strangers in public and rage/call them out.
So…
New game modes are not going to change the toxicity of some people in the NA community. I hear the EU community is much nicer though. We also probably shouldn’t have threads that point out to certain players because that will just result in more edrama, considering the high level of esports in gw2. Thread should omit player names.
Too bad countless’s thread has been erased/censored from history, it never happend, no one will never know.

I’m fine with the current game mode aside from the fact that very bunkery teams/builds are simply too effective and too forgiving (this was made fairly obvious in the last tournament). They could tweak conquest a bit to reward kills and discourage streaming into points with tanky characters. A good start would be to increase the the points per kill from 5 to 10.
So, after seeing this topic I quickly checked the video. I have to say that I agree that the current shoutcasting isn’t close to optimal and I’d much rather prefer a more analytical approach and/or more humorous one. The problem I see is that there isn’t really anyone willing to do it, who is more fit for the job. If I’m wrong on that one and there really is someone interested in casting e.g. the weekly ESL, then hes doing a poor job at promoting himself. I’d recommend starting to get into the shoutcaster program by submitting some video of your work (u could set up a casted scrim, or analyse vod’s).
There are quite a few requirements though, so thats why some potential casters are holding back. I for example, would like to cast again, but the only thing I can bring to the table is the knowledge of tactics and high lvl plays. My English isn’t fluent enough and my casting in general isn’t overly good. I can’t stream myself either. So I’d imagine others have similar problems with getting into casting.
Edit: I want to add, that I still respect the current shoutcasters for investing time into doing this without getting anything back.

Would be fine, but then thieves would need to be nerffed. They have a massive advantage in a glass cannon vs. glass cannon. In fact, they may be part of the reason why bunkers are so effective: everything else is countered by a thief.
It would be nice if someone decent would actually cast the games. As of now, this blu guy is extremely annoying and not very good at it.
BLU is just one of those people that stick ups to do it cuz no other people does it. IMO, and most people would probably agree that BLU will fit very well for shout casting a horse race. Cuz gw2 is just so esports you know ?

I wonder why they deleted that thread it was just some dude saying to other guy “you bad at this please improve” and asking for new game modes.

You can watch the international shoutcaster’s. Might understand anything, but you can fill in what you think might be said =]
Countless is being a silly goose and a big meanie.
Sure, there are aspects of BLU’s casting where he could improve. The dude’s only human, right? But judging by overall performance, BLU is by far the best caster this game has going for it right now. He is able to deliver plenty of information in an understandable manner within a short time span, and he has sufficient understanding of game mechanics to provide a reasonably informative narrative of what takes place during a game. Partnered with an expert co-caster (as Caed suggested in his thread), BLU can provide good running commentary while the co-caster explains rotations and other strategy stuff.
I seem to recall a tourney co-casted by Helseth, and I thought it was a really enjoyable combo. BLU brought the pace and the enthusiasm, while the surly Swede explained the reasoning behind each team’s actions, why they rotate the way they do, what they are trying to pull off etc. I thought it worked well.
I thought you quit, Rizzy.
Countless is clearly a repressed and socially awkward individual, who incorrectly thinks that saying “the plays” enough times will make him sound esports.
This isn’t personal though, your YouTube videos are very important to the game.

yep, BLU is good (and does a lot for the game+community) and the pairing with helseth was the best gw2 shoutcasting so far.

to me, since the first time i saw him on gw2pvptv, he is a full 100% a… [i cannot find an appropriate forum term]
“the plays” “the bursties” and “easily” or “all day” – makes me puke
put me in coach
Countless is a tool. They deserve no respect. Sounds more like someone who is jealous of BLU tbh.
I think he does a fine job of shoutcasting. I really like the weekly 2v2 tournaments. The regular conquest tournaments are boring to watch, but no shout caster is going to make those fun. It’s just the game mode.
I agree that the shout caster’s aren’t very good and i normally mute any gw2 stream. They rarely say anything relevant or noteworthy and often don’t understand the meta.
Their direction and observation skills are lacking and i often find they move away from a key/fun fight to something that isn’t really relevant/exciting (such as a solo decap). They also tend to select the downed characters viewpoint rather than those trying to fight/stomp so you miss out on any good stomp plays etc.
Having said that i wouldn’t of made a video like this which was a overly rude. A polite constuctive video would made this point better.

BLU’s doing a kitten good job. No one’s perfect but I believe BLU is getting better at his craft. Give em some constructive criticism or go make a shoutcast to rival his if you want something different.
Um. Blu has been shoutcasting 2v2s for quite a while, and has recently committed to shoutcasting the Mistpedia 2v2 Weekly tournament.
His shoutcasting there is pretty good.
I guess I agree with Countless? Blu should do… more 2v2 shoutcasting like he’s been doing?…
confused
Anyway. I do agree that Blu talks a bit too fast, has a tendency to get overexcited, and that 15v15 matches really are just too unwatchable to be properly shoutcasted.
Strangely, though, I feel that the actual game mode of GW2 PvP – 5v5 capture point – is also incredibly difficult to keep up with as well.
He’s right, really. Small skirmishes – no greater than 3 players per team – are really the most enjoyable to watch and shoutcast. And aren’t we lucky that Blu has recently started to shoutcast 2v2s every week! What a great guy!
Last week’s NA 2v2: http://www.twitch.tv/blu42/b/500836258
Last week’s EU 2v2: http://www.twitch.tv/blu42/b/500744946
Just watch the videos – Blu does exactly what Countless talks about – calling skills, talking about tactics, etc. This is not Blu’s fault per se, it’s the fact that a continuous zerg of 5v5 capture point is just really hard to keep up with in the current way it functions right now.

Blu isnt bad at shoutcasting, but countless makes a huge point in that you dont ever hear any skills being called out that were used to make a play. Its just “he is taking damage, now he is taking damage, now he is in the downstate” so on and so forth. The game can get very cluttered, but you dont need to call out everything. Just call out what was actually done in order to kill the other players. Have some insight of the game like you actually know whats going on. There is never anything said about what skills players are using in order to make kitten happen which is just boring. Blu is by no means bad. Just stuff to improve on. Not just Blu, but the other casters as well

Well said Quilja,
I’d also like to point out that blu’s casting has come a long way and he seems to be making an effort towards giving his viewers a better idea of what’s happening in the fight rather than focusing on the HP bars. At least this is what i thought after watching the ESL #15 videos.
