I have had a lot of fun with the new and improved PvP matchmaking. The only smear in all that fun and excitement is the PvP map Courtyard. I’m not sure is it alright to fight in an enclosed arena where zone control from some AoEish classes (engies.. *cough *) makes resurrecting nigh impossible. That coupled with the match snow-balling into the favor of the first team getting a opponent into downed state, that there is no good way to recover from it. Seen enough fights gone from 5v5 to 5v4 .. 5v3 and staying that state when the resurrection timers keep the losing team just long enough undermanned that they can be mopped up.

How come we need to fight on that map so long? I’d actually suggest that the needed kills (aka the score) could be reduced to a mere 5 or 6 kills. Meaning the fights are over when they are over. Wiping the enemy team once should suffice.

Wiping the enemy once is fine when the match will end in a blowout anyway, but that’s not always the case. When the teams are fairly evenly matched, the current 5 minute timer is actually too short. There’s generally not enough time to make a comeback after losing the first big fight.

Something else is needed that will help blowouts end quicker, and allow close matches to be fully played out.

Consider this. Losing in Courtyard without scoring a kill or revive – which is normal on the losing side – doesn’t even contribute to a game played on the daily reward track and doesn’t give RP. That sucks.
