Current balance state
Youre talking inter-class balance. That is an important aspect and probably the first to be adressed, but its not all.
Inter class I agree does appear to be alright, tho its hard to tell. Last season it took weeks before chronophantasma became a thing.
However most classes being somewhat viable does not equal balance.
Intra class balance is still at an all time low.
And unfortunately a fair game doesnt mean the game is good.
If this fairness is achieved by powercreeping like it currently is.
So yeah. We definetely had some progress, but simultaneously setbacks in other areas and there is still a ton of work to be done.
A lot the “variety” you see in ESL and similar tournaments is artificial because of the “maximum 1 of a profession” rule.
i would say balance is at an all time low and diversity is basically nonexistent.
the reason why dragonhunter is unviable? because it’s too onedimensional and has been nerfed quite a lot. on release it was broken so they nerfed it. then it was nerfed because bad players kept crying, then it was nerfed because of wvw. the spec is good against player that don’t know what happens if you walk into a trap. if you play around the traps.. then.. well, dh is useless.
chronomancer needs to be nerfed the most
herald needs damage reduction
if tempest needs to be nerfed is debatable.. i feel like the spec has enough downsides to be balanced. yes it’s boring to play and play against, but not necessarily broken.
overall elite specs are still too strong, be it reaper or scrapper or whatever and i would like to see them nerfed even further.
on the other hand i would welcome buffs to other specs, even if they’re niche builds. we have many useless skills in this game that could benefit from a buff. ele glyphs, thief traps, to name a few.
what i dislike the most is that 90% of the time both teams run the same setup with the same builds and amulets… it’s disgusting.
