As much as it saddens me to say this.. I really feel the current “Meta” and state of sPvP is in shambles. The way atleast 85%-90% cheese their wins or troll their enemies with these builds is making sPvP not fun anymore. And i can see alot of this on Reddit and on these Forums.

Yes there is alot of complainers / whiners / salty folks. And this leads me to only one option when it comes to something i love so much more then PvE in anygame since my earlier MMO days. I have never taken PvP more seriously and considered myself a hardcore pvper, in any other game but this one becuase of the way i enjoyed how this system USED to work.

That being said. Current state of sPvP is really saddening end of story. I am going to retire from sPvP until hopefulyl they fix this issue or balance the system or something , because its just not fun anymore =/

This is not a rant or anything salty. Just my opinion out there on the main forums for hopefully the community Devs to see and take a look at someone who LOVES PvP more then anything else like alot of folks and maybe take some action.

Let’s not forget about these awesome “1 pip left for new rank” moments when you hit a premade 5 team with players communicating to each other in teamspeak. Complete uneven matchmaking. Such a fun game!

or when some one dc or leaves. it is a 4v5. But still you lose your pips and it was a complete waste of time. It is nice how you can be puhniseed for Qing op. gj Anet.

This meta is great, once you get a cap point just /sit… With everyone playing a bunk spec, nothing happens without a +3 anyway.

The current sPvP system is a joke. It’s a system that is aimed at very experienced PvP guilds and none else. Even most experienced PvP guilds openly say how terrible the current meta is where the least amount of skill is required for a tempest or a mesmer to hold a point vs 2+ enemies. Forcing everyone to just play cheesy wet noodle builds and make everyone die of boredom.

-Premades vs Soloers. Check
-MMR algorithm set to 50%… Check
-Losing pips vs premades. Check
-Losing pips when 4v5. Check
-People legally tanking MMR. Check
-Almost un-playable classes. Check

No thanks. I’d rather play in maguuma or roam in WvW untill a decent ballance patch.

all you got to do is roll warrior or thief and try your hardest…

The only way to win consistently in the new system is to abuse it. I have 0 games on my druid – and I will swap to my main class after I find a match to take advantage of class based MMR.

That being said, I am something like 33-11 in ranked play, only solo queue, so it might be a small sample size, but the higher you get in MMR (since Anet didn’t reset MMR from the previous system – I ended top 20 before the december 16th patch with a reasonable amount of games) these problems, especially the DCs and losing pips for a win, seem less prevalent than in lower MMRs.

lost 2 pips for a thief that LEFT the game after dying in 2 seconds in the first mid fight.

This meta is a joke, and this new ranked system is a joke. PvP was much more enjoyable beforehand.

PvP is only good for reward tracks and dailies.
