Hi,

I run a 1v1 dueling arena and I think there are a couple of ways that we can improve custom PVP arenas over all.

1) I think it would be a great idea if we can give Admins and Room Owners the power to restrict chat for certain individuals in our room. This will prevent verbal abuse when people lose their cool. Verbal abuse is just as bad as trolling. Sometimes people are not trolls but lets their emotions get the better of them. I think with this enhancement, it would help create a friendlier atmosphere overall.

2) I would like to request for spectators to be easily kicked. Sometimes an admin or a room owner may need room. One of the ways to do so is to kick spectators who have been AFK’ed for hours and are unresponsive. However, it’s quite difficult to kick spectators (perhaps it’s a bug). First, we would have to ban the spectator so it would be kicked from the room. Second, we would have to unban the spectator after doing so. It’s quite tiring to do especially if you’re constantly monitoring the room.

3) Following upon point number 2, I’d hope that admins can kick spectators too. Currently, admins have no power to kick spectators out since they do not possess banning abilities.

4) Granting someone admin rights should be effective immediately instead of being forced to reset the room. Right now, if I wanted to give admin rights to my room, I would have to wait until the room is reset (by starting a game and ending it) until his/her power is granted. However, running a dueling arena, no matches actually starts and ends. Hopefully this minor feature would ease the accessibility for future room owners.

5) If we can expand the banned list and create an additional column “Comments” that notes of why the person is banned, it would significantly help track and document incidents of the room owner’s server.

6) Give the option to ban someone for a period of time. Most dueling servers ban people permanently because they forget the severity of the player’s actions (see number 5) and just leave them at banned. It would make it easier if banning as a punishment has a time period as well. For example, I would have the ability to ban a player from my room an X number of days or permanently. This way, punishment and rewards are encourage and players who used to be trolls can be rehabilitated instead of jumping to another dueling server to troll.

Good suggestions! I’d like to add comments to two points:

1.) It would also be wonderful if the arena admin could choose allow the ftp players to talk in map chat.

5.) This is so much needed. There are not very many individual whose attitude was so bad I never want to see them again, but it would be good to know who they were and what exactly was the problem. Also at the other end make a not if someone should be given a second chance soonish.

I’ve never really understood why admins/owners don’t have a reserve slot above that of the “room size”.

This was pretty much par for the course for many online shooters. If the server size was 24 there was actually 26 slots 2 reserved for admins.

Seems like a simple fix.

Thank you for your feedback guys! I also forgot to mention that the current “ban limit” is 40 people per server. However, with all the free 2 play accounts or the trolling over all (especially in 1v1 dueling arenas), I think it would be great if they can lift this limit so that banning has no number restriction.

Again thank you and hope this catches some dev’s attention.

I think making a list of additional admins was a major step forward but I’d also like these additional admins to have the power to change the server name/motd/settings in general.
