First up I have to say I think custom arenas are a terrible idea and just another way to milk the player base for cash.

However, if it be possible to disable downed state in a custom arena, then I’ll eat all my words and will be the first one to sign up.

Are you kidding? No more baddies joining your 1v1 game with friends while testing specs going around capping points cause they can’t get their own in a real game. Il throw a whole paycheck at them for that.

Sounds like a cool idea, I always wanted to try playing without downstate

Making the game any easier doesn’t sound good in my book.

1. Why are custom arenas a bad thing for you?

It gives a sence of community as you can always go to the same server.
We’ll get options, dunno which ones but anyway. Options=good.
Real tournaments will finally have a chance to get going.
You can practice with your pvp guild.
You can duel.
You can challenge another guild.
Big pve guilds who want to have their own server just for providing yet another service for their guild.
Etc…

Custom arenas are good! Imo if they get going, they should drop nearly all the 8vs8 servers provided by Anet.

2. Why is downed state bad for you?

It adds strategy to the game. Maybe there are some small issues here and there but overall it adds strategy.

I certainly hope so, downed state makes the game easier for newbies and bads.

Custom Arenas are as bad of an idea for GW2 as private servers are for an FPS.

What is so bad about them? Not that you get gems from playing them.

I’d love to play PvP without downed-state. It might actually be fun.

I’d live playing WvW without downed-state even more though.

milking? no i think they need to be able to make money off pvp if you want anet to continue supporting it in the future.

but i do think there are better ways to make mullah off pvp than just this

But private servers are the same as custom ones only are they player run. Unless there’s some options changed, but they’ll be the same. They won’t be all password locked I think.
