Q:

NO MORE NODES.

The ultimate pvp is and always will be most kills win. Anet has to change the scene and feel of pvp and get away from WoW’s skeleton design of MMO pvp with standing in nodes.

So you wan to them to make deathmatch? And that you think will get them away from WoW? Guild Wars 2 is so far different from WoW than any other MMO to date. The only thing they have any common is the fact they are MMOs.

And Deathmatch arenas would be kitten

The combat mechanics would have to change, or at least the current builds would. Arena/Deathmatch would be no more fun than team fights are now in GW2. There’s very little coordination and possible depth with the current system.

Arena would still be fun, but not as an official mode.

Take something like double trap ranger. What coordination goes on there? Compare it to something like an equivalent double hunter. Or double backstab thief compared to double rogue, and etc. Classes in GW2 are individually shallow and there’s only a few circumstances where actual strategy beyond the obvious is involved in group fights. At least currently. Then there’s also the problem of length of battles/sustainability of classes and build wars as well.

Engaging in intellectual discussion on combat mechanics and theorycrafting? Oh wait this is an internet forum.

I actually never said GW2 requires no coordination. Arena would simply be boring to spectate and play because it doesn’t have enough coordination. There’s more reasons not to add it than there is to add it. Of which, by the way, you still haven’t listed in the first place.

Besides the obvious gameplay issue, think about it from a developer’s point of view and from the point of view of ArenaNet. ArenaNet is a business after all.

Larynx you are trolling a bit, its funk’s topic and you’ve said you peace now just be quite.
I agree that death match would take a lot of work to put in. Common sense teams would just put in a full bunker team and focus anyone who is’nt a bunker.
Might take them a bit longer to kill someone but they would win: Would be extremely stale it terms of game play.

GvG is what we need, like i have said many times. Kill a Guild Lord to win.
No to the people who say that team vs team has no coordination, you can’t be more wrong and u are most likely used to playing WvW. ikittenv5 there is perfect coordination, there was in GW1 which had bigger teams (8v8). Also GvG is not 100% Team deathmatch. On every 2nd minute everybody will revive (yes, remove the option to move to waypoint after 15 sec dead). This gives a little time to slay NPC’s near Guild Lord or even the lord himself. So killing the enemy team is not even top priority, putting enough pressure on them can give you a chance to attack GL.

GvG is just my dream. Thats why it is possible u have seen me talking about it in other threads. Make it happen anet
