Seriosuly..They make MUCH better trap rangers than ranger. It’s ridiculous. I literally could not kill them tonight on my own trap ranger…They have extremely powerful traps, including an ELITE trap that rangers don’t even have and then they have all the usual blocks and buffs a guardian brings.

Have you read the details of the DH skills (traps, traits, and bow)? It is kind of unbelievable. It is like taking a trapper ranger and then removing all the downside for taking traps and adding so many extra buffs, that most players wouldn’t even have had the nerve to ask for or imagine.
Apart from damage that can take even my ranger equipped with rabid and under protection from 100-0 before I get a chance to react, 2 of the traps are instant cast, one breaks stun (wtf right! trap ranger ‘s dream), and the traps apply the following: daze, stability, blind, swiftness, vulnerability, revealed, protection, fury, slow, aegis, cripple, might. The heal trap can also be “double cast” like normal traps, unlike the rangers heal trap (ranger version doesn’t trigger a heal if not used straight away), for massive burst healing.
But the traps being totally OP compared to ranger traps is just the beginning. They also get a 1200 range instant cast unblockable pull, a trait that auto procs knock back every 10 secs on any bow skill or auto attack, which also gives 6 SECONDS of STABILITY – ie 60% stability uptime, and the bow skills themselves are none too shabby.

Yet the class that overwhelmingly whines that they don’t have the best of absolutely everything are Rangers. I’d wager nearly every DH in the game would happily trade traps for Rapid Fire alone.

If you refuse to listen to advice, just create a DH in pvp. Play around with it for a day and you will quickly see its weaknesses. Surprise surprise you will find that you can fight them much better now.

You do realize that you just made the point that certain elite specs need to be nerfed right? Colin J has stated that elite specs should be an alternative to the other trait lines, not stronger than the other trait lines. You are essentially arguing that DH needs to be nerfed even if you don’t realize what you did. Be careful.
I see the quality of the “nerf DH” threads has gone down considerably in the last day or so…
Couple of ironic things…
1. The guardians saying that it’s a bad spec that dies easily are the sames ones playing DH.
2. I would agree that DH can be dealt with in a duel situation once you know you what you are facing, but the problem lies in synergy with another DH or lockdown class that makes the damage unavoidable. Plus, the point capture nature of PvP is also something that makes AOE type damage something that can’t be too big or else it becomes way too OP.
You are starting to see tons of double DHs teaming up and instantly gibbing people in everything from hotjoins, to WvW and sPvP to exploit the synergy.
They nerfed Blighter’s Boon immediately due to even less oppressive synergy with Herald, so I would expect a similar nerf soon.
Overall though, I wouldn’t get on Anet too much about it, since it’s still early after release and synergy exploits are understandably something that could have been missed. I’m fairly confident they will address this soon because it’s fairly obvious to everyone at this point.
Cooldowns probably need a much needed look because you can’t allow almost 100% lockdown/deaths to happen very often if you want people (especially new players) to keep playing.

Regular traps arent the issue….good players will counter them with dodges leaps etc. The things that setup wombocombos combined with the traps are.:
Like longbow 5 for example. Relatively hard to spot during a clusterkitten teamfight. Makes it really easy to setup a really hardhitting wombocombo if followed up by some traps .

Instant cast, applies daze, stability, crippled, aegis, breaks stun, lasts 10 secs, and does 399 damage base. Not much damage at all would be Light’s Judgement which only does 50 damage, applies daze, revealed, 10 stacks vulnerable, swiftness.

Whether they are stronger or not doesn’t matter to the fact that elites are not purposely designed to be stronger than other specs.
Is it DH that’s too strong, or the combination of instant cast traps with stealth + super speed from trapper runes? Without the stealth spam from trapper runes, DH is an easy target. However, DH is unkillable while in stealth + has the superspeed to get out of AOEs while stealthed. Trapper runes need to go. They allow trap spam with zero risk.

the thing is some traps have obscene damage ontop of being unblockable to such levels were you can instantly melt a full bunker player with nothing but traps
and runes also bring up another problem while trapper runes make it extremely easy for guards to be safe while being on the offense , runes of the dragonhunter offer 5 stacks of might for each trap Placed so that allows guard to gain an instant 20-25 stacks of might
and ontop of that traps have debuffs and conditions when activated and as if that wasnt enough traps grant fury aegis protection 10 might stacks swiftness and regen

Instant cast, applies daze, stability, crippled, aegis, breaks stun, lasts 10 secs, and does 399 damage base. Not much damage at all would be Light’s Judgement which only does 50 damage, applies daze, revealed, 10 stacks vulnerable, swiftness.
Your definition of “lots of damage” is astounding and perhaps, very telling.
Is it DH that’s too strong, or the combination of instant cast traps with stealth + super speed from trapper runes? Without the stealth spam from trapper runes, DH is an easy target. However, DH is unkillable while in stealth + has the superspeed to get out of AOEs while stealthed. Trapper runes need to go. They allow trap spam with zero risk.
the thing is some traps have obscene damage ontop of being unblockable to such levels were you can instantly melt a full bunker player with nothing but traps
Oh that is just “sci-fi”, traps don’t do lots of damage, you can’t get 100-0ed by a DH, its an elite spec so has to be good- it can’t just be like normal ranger traps or something, just dodge, L2P, the other elite specs are more powerful, Guard has to give up so much to take traps … did I miss anything?

Not everyone plays a thief or a ranger with infinite evades.

You should post videos of spvp. The gear differences, teamplay, objectives, and map size make WvW not a particularly relevant way to show off how to beat DH.
What I would like to see is how to deal with a guard that teleports onto you and trap dumps, or pulls you onto traps (in spvp). This is because in those situations for some reason I can neither dodge out of or stunbreak to get clear of the traps.
