DH is still Rockin
With the nerf to Purification cast time, I suspect we will see posts about reverting the change, how DH is no longer viable, and that DH is OP.
We are in for some crazy times, that’s for sure.
DH need the same treatment that Scrapper got for Gyro.
Cast time + Daze removal.
And… they need to set the CD when the trap triggered, not when the trap is put. Like gyro, the CD goes when they Gyro exploded.
As long they don’t do it, DH will still get that OP stigma for good reasons.

CD on trigger has so many problems. For starters it means that if the trap isn’t triggered the DH ends up with a effectively infinite cooldown. This makes using a trap enormously risky. Purification would certainly never get used again because the risk of getting locked out of your heal is too great.

This would be easy to ameliorate with a flip skill that activates the trap early if you want to move it. Doing this might even increase the tactical usage of traps to serve as area denial.

I like the idea of being able to activate the trap with a flip skill. It seems like a good compromise, but i wonder what the DH haters have to say about it.

Whats your goal to make DH the worst class in the game? Its already totally over-rated and probably not more valuable then anything but Warrior and Thief. The nerfs of this last patch were all that were needed.

That’s what it seems like. lol
You really can’t compare gyros to traps but that doesn’t seem to stop the haters from trying.
What I want to know is how much counter play is required before people stop complaining about DH?
I really can’t think of much of anything on DH that doesn’t have very obvious strong counter play options now except for spear. (which will be the next to get the ax, no doubt) We’ve seen how often wings gets interrupted, like no doubt purification will now. Traps have literally the most counter play options. True shot is as obvious as seeing a double Decker bus coming at you. Shield of courage has obvious counter play. The knock back has to be aimed and can easily be dodged.
If there are any complaints left to levy, they have to do with spear or core guardian combinations. The DH specific stuff has plenty of options to counter play us now. We should be as predictable to fight as they come by now.

DHs is still way too easy to play for high rewards, too much room for errors. 1 DH may not be an issue, multiple DHs are, considering only real pvp mode we have is capture point – and DHs excel at point holding and point fights. Too many instants, too many blocks, too many heals, too much point coverage with aoe dmg etc. Yeah you can dodge traps and symbols but then you are often forced off-point or get knocked out so you give up point to DH. If you fight multiple DHs on point they will always have blocks up and entire area is covered in big damaging fields. Ranged isn’t an option either since some DHs run LB which does decent dmg as well. Necro would be good counter but due to lack of stab they get just CCd to death before they can actually be a threat to DH (which have decent condi cleanse).
uh what’s up with double post forum bug
The counter to dh is power dps. Anything that is unblockable is a huge advantage. If it’s an attack that is both cc and burst dps that is also an advantage if it pierces blocks. In that regard, a power rev and power warrior have better chances vs a dh.
I love when people say DH is OP, with out traps and there blocks DH’s are toast. Traps are natural selection. If you die to them it’s your own fault. There are enough skills that can set off the traps with out taking damage rendering the DH’s dps reduced significantly. Some players ate just bad at there class. I mean I won a 3vs1 in middle on col with sword artifact. Now that is OP. Getting stomps without doing anything.

Now that Druid heals were nerfed and Herald stability was throw out the window I’m feeling unstoppable playing power DH again. This patch buffs was much needed, maybe DH will be even competitive in the Pro League this time ^^.

The counter to DH is the buff to Call of the Wild making pets unblockable. Well played Power ranger can shred DH now and theres nothing he can do about it. Wait for DH to pop Shield of Courage when they are low. Use CoTW and watch them fall apart. My ranger guildies have been laughing all week about this.

I don’t have to block a enemy already blinded, and I cand blind 7 times each 20 seconds

If you think that the pet can win the fight for you after the nerf in the sustain of the Druid you’ll be ready for a letdown. The reason due Druids did counter DH before last patch was their ability to do decent damage while having superb sustain. Now they must chose between having superb sustain with mediocre damage or good damage with mediocre sustain (based on the selected gear/stats).
