DH just ruined my love for Stronghold
Stronghold is the worst pvp map/idea in the game. There is a reason ANET lets us uncheck stronghold option. Its that bad. If i want to PVE there is the whole world of Tyria and Maguuma out there.
“Buff my main class, nerf everything else. "
Stronghold is the most strategic pvp map, its awesome when you play it with a good team. Agree that DH can be annoying.

just some possible splits that both your team and enemy team could have at anytime, so pick where you go… strategically*
but remember!:
- what class you are
- what can you bring to each fight currently in progress
- can you be there quick enough to make the difference
- what classes does enemy have on point
- what’s the current score
- do you need a decap
- can you just hold ftw
There’s also secondary objectives where you must
- watch for steals
- watch for rush
- watch for buffs

I’m not going to continue on and on, I think you would rather get the point by now, I believe conquest requires more strategy then..
-spawn npc to break down door
-guard npc to door
-npc at door, get no karma for event… kitten bugs..
-kill npc’s at door endangering your door breaking npc’s
-kill npc’s past door once door broken by your npc’s
-guard npc’s to next door
-npc’s make it to second door, great.. entire things bugged still no karma
-npc’s knock down second door
-rush the event champion
-kitten still no karma, kappa.

Stronghold ruined my love of Stronghold. Its an awful game mode.
In season 2 any time I got this map I knew I was losing a pip and said I hated it in guild chat. They said turn it off. What! ?!?!? Never playing again.

Anet wanted to get atention from the kewl moba kids, while balance team is doidng what they believe is best for the game(wich isnt), IMO they even put the pvp team with tied hands……
- they should add some stat/trait progression system to it.

and drops from the mobs you kill, maybe a couple ore nodes up by the trebs
Throw in some Hearts and Vistas and you have the Perfect PVE map.

I’m actually not joking, a progression system could add some depth to it.

No I don’t get your point. Let’s break down what you said:
First you list some possible splits for opening a game of conquest. However, for some reason you omit the same list for Stronghold: and Stronghold actually has a more complex and diverse range of opening strategies.
Second, you list a few generic things that apply to any pvp mode like “what class are you”. There are a couple of points specific to conquest about capping and holding a point.
Third, you talk about secondary objectives- again you don’t list these in the stronghold breakdown even though the secondary objectives in SH are often key to winning the game.
Fourth, you tell us about not getting “karma” in SH. You don’t get karma in conquest either, its not a bug: you get karma from WvW, not spvp.
If you take the time to understand the map and gamemode properly, it is easy to see that SH has vastly deeper strategic potential than the point holding game.
Yes very diverse…
Match start:
-spawn gate openers
-someone kill guard at first gate, defend yours, gather supply.
-rinse repeat step 1-2 until final gate open exception supply team grab champs when commune spawns up.
-gate open, lord rush.
did I miss anything?
Karma was a joke at the fact you kill more npc’s in your average sh game then players.
- so was gathering nodes (stab at to much pve in a pvp game mode)
- so was hearts
- and vistas…

You seem to use a different approach for your assessment of conquest than for SH, thereby completely misrepresenting SH.
If I describe conquest the same way you describe SH, conquest boils down to:
Hold points
Watch out for secondary objectives (which on most maps aren’t that important anyway if you have control of two points the entire game)
If I use the same method to kitten SH as you did for conquest the SH strats become:
5-0-0
4-1-0
3-2-0
2-3-0
1-4-0
0-5-0
0-4-1
0-3-2
0-2-3
0-1-4
0-0-5
4-0-1
3-0-2
2-0-3
1-0-4
(and that doesn’t include treb strats or that fact that you can attack/defend from multiple areas and are not locked into remaining in any one zone)
just some possible splits that both your team and enemy team could have at anytime, so pick where you go… strategically*
but remember!:
- what class you are
- what can you bring to each fight currently in progress
- can you be there quick enough to make the difference
- what classes does enemy have on offense/defense
- what’s the current score
- do you need a decap
- can you just defend and win on points
-what minions to spawn? All bombers/all archers/ a mix?
-Decide whether to escort your minions
-Healing/hasting/stealthing minions
-always be watching for a surprise push
-
There’s also secondary objectives where you must
- Decide who and how many players to commit
- Decide whether to defend the hero spawn with your treb
-Take out an enemy treb or player using it to defend hero spawn
-Balance hero spawn grab with attack/defence of main objective
-Decide whether to have someone continue running supply during a large hero spawn teamfight
-Decide what hero to actually spawn
-Decide whether you can go for a double hero grab
- Time an offensive move close to the time of a hero grab so that the other team is forced to either lose the hero or lose a door
-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/-/
I’m not going to continue on and on, I think you would rather get the point by now, I believe SH requires more strategy than..
Stand on points (conquest)
