DO something about mesmers
I wouldn’t say it’s swarming, and with any class it’s more about how good the player is. I’ve taken many 1v1 with my ranger. (I’ve played ranger for 90% of my time playing PvP so I’m not on the band wagon, and I’ve played the game since launch) and I wouldn’t say I’m the best player in the world, I’d say average at best. I personally fine thieves harder to deal with than mesmers.

Haha ya mesmer is op. I main mesmer. (Even if they nerf us once it will take 6+ nerfs to really balance us). But besides the fact that it would take the balance team too long to balance us, they happen to like us so there is nothing you can do about it. Just roll mesmer it’s actually fun to fight once you know how they work.
Those are the teams I got in raked arenas the past couple days. However the opponent teams are more balanced . In my opinion two mesmers are more than enough, if your team has more mesmers vs a balanced team you almost certainly going to loose

Having lots of people play mesmer in pvp does not mean that lots of people are successful at playing mesmer in pvp. There are a lota wana bes trying it out. In the first match Elia posted the mesmer got the lowest score. In the second match the two mesmers on the team got the two lowest scores. In the finale match with three mesmers, the team got decimated. Do some of the mesmer traits need to be toned down a bit? Yes. Is mesmer really as op as many people posting are making it seem? You do know that individual score doesn’t mean anything right? It makes the rest of your argument invalid.
I’ve said since release we should have clauses to prevent class/build stacking. It was lame with old valk d/d ele. It was lame with zoo ranger, lame with hambow, condicleave flavor, turret engie, ect.
yes like in the case of stacked mesmer it will not be an automatic win, but it in general kills the game more than a clause would kill queues. Atleast if we have these rules and clauses in place we might get a more broad competitive scene.
Old suggestion: must have at least 30 (or 6) trait points in another line than another player of the same profession on the same team.
New: players of the same profession must have 2 different specialization lines, and a different amulet.

Well individual score doesn’t mean much, but we lost all 3 games with difference. As I said, for me , many mesmers means more likely to loose vs a balanced team . I agree that being a mesmer doesn’t mean you are a good one, for example few of them in those teams were dying within secs and unable to cap/hold points
Mesmers are very OP and there are bugs that work to their advantage (shatter blind goes through dodges) no icds for stupid op blinds or boon strips and their stuns are just out of this world. Not only can they 1 shot bunker guards but they can also stop a 3 man rez and put up slow so they can get a quickness invlun stomp. They can rez better than nearly anything, do more damage than anything, prevent any rez from happening on the opposing team, win any 1v1, get out of any fight, have a crazy burst on stupid low cds, moa to counter rampage/lich, mass invis because they really need the stealth… have heal that can out heal warrior heal sig.
So ya, mesmer needs to be nerfed ASAP

Seeing as the mesmer majority teams aren’t doing so well leads me to believe you are overexaggerating. Also blatantly mixing things that are impossibe to take all at once shows that you’re just trying to get the whiners on board. Either that or you have very limited understanding of how mesmers work.
Also on the healing bit. Ether feast only beats out Healing Signet if used off cd every chance with 3 clones each use. So I’ll assume your talking about Mantra. Seeing as it has to be constantly recharged(making it really susceptible to even slow interrupts, especially against other mesmers) and can only be used 2-3 times before needing to be recharged, it makes sense that this skill should outheal the entirely passive Healing Signet healing.
I think part of the blame is in the dailies.
The profession dailies should be based on account data, different for each account, not the same 2 for all players.
The ones I’d recommend are these two:
- A random one between the 4 most player professions of the account other than the first one. So even accounts with only 5 character slots can do 3 PvP dailies.
- A random one between the 4 least played professions of the account. To encourage people to try new and different stuff they rarely ever do.
Having lots of mesmers doesn’t mean it’s being very effective. It just means people prefer them over other dailies. Change dailies to be different for each account, you won’t get as many people playing mesmer at the same time.

It’s not the dailies… This has been everyday since mesmer got buffed… It didn’t take but a few hours after post-patch to realize how OP mesmer’s potential (most already knew it before post-patch during the specialization streams on mesmer) could be and it wasn’t long before people started bandwagoning onto mesmer because of that potential. Alot more people are just playing it right now in PvP (and WvW also , alot of mesmers) because it’s broken right now.

Let’s look at mesmer’s abilities to effectively cover a heal or cover recharging a heal: Keep in mind some of these refer to simply covering heals, but some also can refer to covering recharging mantras obviously with mirror heal you can’t run mantra heal so this is why I said this:
1. Any shatter can essentially cover your heal because you can simply blind their CC (you could also essentially chaos storm as well for blinds),
2. distortion
3. reflect using mirror
4. daze shatter a melee spec , you can actually even cast ether feast and teleport at the same time (similar to casting izerker and then teleporting behind the player as it’s a channel cast and not cancelled by instants) if you wanted.
5. mantra of concentration,
6. bountiful disillusionment

The amount of ways you have for covering your mantra recharge or covering ether feast is absurd and insanely much more than other classes. I’m sorry but if you’re having trouble recharging your mantras given the amount of defensives you have for covering it, then you deserve to be punished for it. Not to mention you can just invis and get out of the fight, reset and recharge in the distance then re-enter the fight all in a matter of 5-10 seconds.
