That is a different issue, i was relating a issue with dc in the match.

Not cheating, i watched the matches and this seemed to be the only match with this problem. Also if you have any issue you would just like any competitive scene take it to a official to go under review. I wasnt going to assume it was a attack but took it from a literal perspective.

The reason for thinking it was more than internet issues is you can see Frosty’s internet is fine before the game and during the first 3 minutes and for a long time after the game. It was only those 8 minutes or so in both games that his internet becomes completely unusable. It occured at almost the same point on the timer in both games. So there’s a clear pattern here. TCG was probably going to lose in both games. There’s your motive. Unless we are given evidence to the contrary it looks very much like sabotage.

I understand that but once again you dont get to decide that. Vermillion looked like they were going to win both matches until it happened.

First few things you have to say

1- Does TCG have a history of this happening?
2- Does this player have a history of internet complications?
3- Does the ESL league have the ability to look into what potentially happened as well as Anet?

Everyone is coming on here saying they “have” to replay when you can almost guarantee that the power above have looked into the situation. If they see it as a lets move on, you have to go off of that.

Making accusations and conspiracy theories because people dont like a team/players/ PvP system isnt how things work.

1. We don’t know that TCG did this. It could have been anyone.
2. We can see from Frostball’s POV video there was no internet problem before or after the match. That’s a pretty discriminating internet connection if that was the case. His immediate reaction was it is a DDOS attack. Someone with a tempremental internet connection would probably blame their internet first.
3. As I understand it currently proof is being sought from the isp.

Look at the big picture and consider future games where people in the audience can decide the outcome of a match. You’ve also seen the lengths people go to for digital rewards so we can imagine what someone would do for $50000. Pretty much anything. In a professional sport this would be taken very seriously and safegaurds would be put in place to prevent it because it would kitten off players and spectators. As a fanatical sports enthusiast I’d think you’d want to discuss rationally instead of calling people children and conspiracy theorists.

Of course, my comment and the generalization of the GW2 community comes from the many different threads not just this one in particular.

People in here are discussing and asking for a potential rematch, others are crying and demanding.

Im also pointing out the drama that goes on behind the ESL scene which is leaked onto the forum. When the play by play guys talk so and so player formerly of X team and formerly of another X team and on his new team.

I mean people come onto the forum just to post OE or Helseth vidoes from twitch screaming about the ESL roster issues there are.

You grow up playing sports with people you dont necessarily like but you put the time in, work hard, and go threw the journey.

IN ESL season 1, ESL season 2 now. You having players leave teams over disputes, players being kicked off the team for other players, and potentially switching teams because the current team has no chance and will replace players on a team that probably dont want to leave. This is happening during the season, 3-4-5 games in.

What else would you call it? If we are just gonna be general fine yes, its random acts of potential video game attitudes.

But if you were to pick apart what is ultimately wrong with Pro Leagues and GW2 elitel players. You can start with the amount of panic players have over something that might have happened such as a ddos when we are not sure. Then the amount of teams and players switching during a actual season.

This just feeds fuel to those who say this game will never really be esports and hurts the players who truly enjoy this game and probably wish this could get to the level of a LOL or DOTA.

Yes, that is ridiculous. I’d support tighter controls for changing teams midseason at least. Back to the thread topic, as someone who doesn’t want the league to turn into a joke, wouldn’t you prefer a rematch if it’s proven that Vermillion got ddos’d? Even though they might not be playing the same team. You seem to want to characterise people who believe there was malfeasance in various ways, when you agree they could be correct in thinking that. I don’t get that.

I didnt like the fact that alot of people here felt that there needed to be a rematch. It takes away the point from actually having the season.

Vermillion should report there potential complaint and everyone should wait for the decision.

Now my potential name calling isnt towards the individuals necessarily but its towards this kid like attitude towards what a Pro Season for Guild Wars 2 is.

You have to admit without even knowing details, people are leaving teams left and right in the middle of seasons, changing teams at the end of the season to upgrade a certain class, unable to get 5 players to a match, and for me this thread was just another cry thread. Now i i can the potential problems and i can address that something might have happened.

But overall you have to admit, GW2 Pro Leagues have been wish washy with terrible metas, terrible rules due to broken classes and the players jumping off ship and/or kicked off for no real reason other then there is drama.

How can you not say anything when you have so many “huh” things to say about 2-3 teams from NA and EU in each season and yet no rules come out to actually hold the players and teams accountable?

Your stances on the disconnect issues make me say “huh”.

You didn’t like that a lot of people didn’t want the most make or break match of the season to be decided by external factors outside their playing ability? It’s being investigated for foul play. What’s to love about that potentially tainting the PL results?

If the removal/exchange of players, as determined by the teams is gonna harm the pro league, I think ESL should enforce stricter rules. I don’t think it does at all though, i think the betrayal/defection of players would add to the appeal of any scene.

Im all for Anet/ESl admins saying there has to be a rematch due to outside interference’s. I simply just dont like people saying there has to be rematch when it potentially could just be a dc.

Now the drama from players leaving etc etc. Thats great entertainment if there is 2 things.

1- The shoutcasters give the play by play on whats happened.

2- If these players are traded and not just kicked

Its not fair form players to get straight kicked from teams because a better option popped up and now you dont have a team and no other team potentially wants you.

You might say it gives the current teams the best chance to win and therefore better matches in the Pro league.

I would disagree though, you obviously see the difference between even the top 5 teams in NA and EU. And the roster changes from EZ PZ LS and Spookie.

There has to be a better roster situation them simply 2 of the better players from ORNG going to TCG and then ORNG picking up randoms.

I know you know this has a huge effect on the Pro League teams. Teams like yours Astral formerly known as the Abjured, Final Form, Team PZ. You guys have been together for awhile an you can see the difference.

These other teams players are dropping left and right and each time its happens the team takes 1-2 steps back while these teams who have stayed together are getting baby steps better.

In the case of the TCG, they are getting 2 former players who are better and this will become a better team imo if this is true. The new ORNG will look and play the new Spookie.

You being involved with the scene probably here the small details everyone elses misses. So you can understand but no one like seeing 3-4 teams beat the other 4 teams 500-100 and not understand why 2-3 of the main roster players play for 1-2 different teams and the shout casters not explain why.

If it was a dc then they shouldn’t replay. I want a rematch because from watching the videos it seems more like ddos. We’ll see what they find.

On the changing teams isn’t there a name for that? I remember hearing something about college sports and parents pretending to get a divorce so their child could play on a team in a different state. When playing for prize money and teams can pick and choose players from the entire league it does seem a bit silly.

Just wanted to let ppl know that as long as we cant connect TCG to DDoS we are NOT getting rematch. This is decided by ESL.

So if you want to win matches in ESL, all you need is somebody outside of your team DDoSing the opponents, because even if they can figure out it was an attack, it is going to be hard to connect that person to your team.

That is such a shame to hear. A game as important as this should not be decided on a 4v5. The Vermillion vs. TCG match was the one I was looking forward to more than almost any other this season and it is so disappointing that it will not be replayed. Good luck in the rest of the season, I hope you guys still get to the finals!

The rules for a disconnect need to be changed. No one likes watching a game decided by a dc, no matter what caused it. I would suggest that there should be a full reset of the game if there is a DC unless the team with the DC is more than 200 points down when it happens and if there are 2 disconnects the series should just be played on another week. I know people will say that the teams could exploit this but I think that the pro players have enough respect for the game and what they do to not leave the game when it looks like they are going to lose so they get another chance. This would be a huge improvement to the pro league in my opinion.

It would be impossible to prove that. Catch-22 ESL. ProLeague is officially a sham.
