I did a few hotjoins and it was zerging on small scale. Then i watched some tpvp vids and there was a lot of praise in there, but when i tried it was just the same, only on even smaller scale (solo queue). Constant uneven fights, hardly every a 1v1 and the conquest mode doesnt appeal to me in the slightest anyways. I don’t want to make a tpvp team and duke it out with other teams 5v5, i want to be able to achieve something on my own! Now i’ve been having duels for a long while in spvp and WvW aswell, but its always a matter of organization and i cant really know where i am because it is just random opponents and there is no ladder.
I would like a 1v1 rated ladder. To prevent the bunkering i would rate a draw as a loss for both opponents or if you have better suggestions, bring it on (for example banning some gear like in king of the hills). Draw would occur after a certain timer runs out or both opponents accept it by clicking suggest draw or something. Also please no additional mechanics, just plain and simple 1v1, spectators allowed. I am not of the opinion that the game isnt balanced around 1v1 btw, i think all classes have some good builds to bring to a 1v1 in spvp gear (maybe except guardian) with a fair chance to win, only depending on skills. If i am wrong that would be noticed quickly by some classes floating on top (mesmer comes to mind) and there could be adjustments made to balance it out also in 1v1 mode.
The same game mode could include 2v2, 3v3, 5v5.. whatever you want. up to GvG scale! Death Matches is what i want, mostly of all 1v1 but thats just me.
