Deathmatch 15v15
no. i don’t want that. 8v8 is already crazy. if you wanted zerg fights just stay in WvW.
Capture points is an idea. You have to believe in this idea if you want to promote this idea. And that means suppressing possibly better ideas, like 15 vs 15 GvG, that might be detrimental to this idea.

+1 and 15 characters
i often dont even see in a 5v5 whats going an – just too much effects and animations you have to care for
15v15 never work and its jsut a spam fest on the comander symbol
thats why im bored from wvw – only the comander rly play it – all others are just there to carry supplys or spam the buttons^^
After watching the 2v2 tournament, I can barely grasp the amount of clusterkittens that a 15v15 fight would give…

Gw2 is a masterpiece at it’s foundation. Content-wise however…
if you can’t grasp what goes on in 2v2 and the 15v15 players can see layers of abstraction in their playstyle, what does that make you?
For god’s sake: stop calling it GvG!!
jut because there are 15people in the same map, doesn’t mean they all have to zerg
The devs have already confirmed producing an arena just for you in the obsidian sanctum. No seriously, they are doing exactly what you guys have asked for. You can stop being upset now.
Yea 15 people is beyond boring. We need 5v5 death match or survival.
post this in the wvw forum and u might get some support
spvpers r more fans of the gw1 style gvg,
smaller, more structured, and more strategic.
not that 15v15 zerg cleave zergfest yall call gvg
again, if there are enough objectives, you don’t need to zerg in a 15v15. you can play organised PvP with those numbers. Capturing only 3 points (current maps) wont work in a 15v15. Those maps are way to small for that so it will lead to zerging. bigger maps (without mass events and Exp) wont lead to zerging if there is enough to attack/defend.
Let’s be honest watching GvG is 1000x more fun than the boring capture points. If Anet really wants esport that much then they should implemented this. It’s not even that hard to create just make a room and let people fight each other to death.
I don’t see why Anet wouldn’t want to do this
Let me think about this…..No. Just go do WvW, plently of people to organize there. SPvP should be about small skirmishes, 5v5 and lower.
Countless

Yea but small fight dosen’t mean capping points. It still boring when it’s all about capping. If it was a 5v5 death match we would see alot of new builds.
ask for a server dedicated for deathmatch instead. i’m sure not all players want that.

Lets be honest, when you get to the point where ONE person has to tell everyone even when to dodge because no one has any idea what’s going on, then no. it’s not fun.
it’s just a false sense of a accomplishment granted to whoever got luckier with the AoE cap
Cause, people like rooting for certain players, others like to see amazing people do amazing stuff. Individual skill is too greatly diminished in a 15v15, not to mention the amount of AOE in this game would make every fight look the same. The brackets we see in most comparable games are tried and true.

1000x, such hyperbole. Aside from being wrong and failing to understand the implications of 15v15, it also isn’t possible with the current tpvp architecture.
Watching paint dry is more fun than watching “gvg” or to call it more accurately zvz. You have your wvwvw maps for that go and enjoy it there, no need to push silly modes.
Why are people so in love with deathmatch? It’s incredibly one dimensional. I do want more game modes, but this isn’t one of them. Capture the flag, siege/defend, more hybrid capture/domination maps all would be great. The closed thing I want in terms of deathmatch is a way for ppl to have casual duels without going to a spvp room.
I’m a big fan of 5v5 and don’t do gvg in this game but I think people are really underestimating the fun/skill of it.
Large scale fighting is a totally different paradigm than small scale. Personal skill matters very little, it’s all about coordination, composition, and tactics. In some ways it’s actually much more difficult than spvp. Yes at the low level it seems spammy, zergy, whatever you want to call it, but there absolutely is the potential to optimize not just builds but group compositions, roles, and plays.
It is probably much harder to watch, not that tpvp is that easy.
5v5 is already pushing it for being able to follow what is going on, 15v15 is just a spam fest that nobody can follow and no skilled players would want to do competitively.

Watching GvG is not at ALL more fun than watching tPvP. It’s all zergs with no coordination at all. You can’t shoutcast it because even the players don’t know what the hell is going on.
If you want your 15v15 go to WvW because that’s all it is. Zerg vs zerg and the only “coordination” there is is a commander telling you when to portal bomb go flank left or right.
I used to run the Academy Gaming tournaments for GW2.

There are people too who are wanting to be the best/famous/infamous/notorious/infamous GvG GUILD.
it’s like how Gangs work. If your Gang has a reputation, people would want to join your gang . And in game, if your Guild matters, people would want to join the Guild just to wear the tag or become their pompom girls.
sPvP teams just limit their recruits to their actives and subs. So they will be forgotten or the legacy won’t go on when they die.
individual skill wear out or the player will one day quit and its done. with Guild activity such as being on top of the community led GvG ladder, your guild will resonate even if the game dies or its roster will be filled up carrying on the name of the guild if it continues for long.
This is what happened in Guild Wars 1. And will happen in GW2 when the GvG arena is up.
