Do I understand the new system correctly?

So if you dont play a match you lose points after 3 days up to a TOTAL maximum of 700?
I will be gone in januari for 3-4 weeks, so if lets says I reach legendary before I leave and then when I’m come back im a bronze scrub?

Dont see any point why I should play then lol. Pathetic system

Play 7 matches and get x100 elo points back. You basically need to play 7 games in last 3 days and you wont have any decay.

So you think you should be able to sit at the top of the leaderboard for weeks without playing and having to prove yourself continually? Umm no.

Did you miss the part where all you have to do is play a couple games to remove the decay by 100 per game? Your skill rating stays the same, your effective rating is different.

So if you play games afterwards you get your progress back no matter what?

@ Druss It aint about leaderboard or what, its just about progress and I think 3 days decay is a bit too harsh, many people sometimes leave their town or anything

The decay seems to be separate counter which is removed at a rate of 100 pts per game played. So if you go for a month you lose 700pts. Play 7 matches and you immediately get those 700 pts back. Easy Peasy. (no not the team)

Sounds reasonable

This is how every real competitive game works, just because it is inconvenient for you doesn’t mean it’s a bad design, this is actually very healthy for a competitive gamemode

I was on vacation for a week. Came back, had -670ish decay. I’m not sure I understand what’s going on because I thought that playing matches (ranked) would eliminate or reduce that decay and, instead, it’s increasing. I now have -699 decay and I’ve played at least fifteen ranked matches today. It’s entirely possible that I am missing some crucial element here, but I really don’t understand what’s going on. Can someone dumb it way down for me and tell me why my decay appears to be increasing rather than decreasing?

Maybe it’s because on top of playing ranked you actually have to win games to get your rating back. Like someone said it’s individual counter but you still lose rating if you lose games and win rating if you win games, if you have decay you just win more of rating than you would normally do. If you lose I believe the amount of rating lost is the same with or without decay, but with decay it adds on top of decay
